On July 11, a two-day NATO summit began in Vilnius. At the same time, the event was supposed to become a symbol of the triumph of the West over Russia, but it did not work out. This opinion is shared by Russian military analyst Vladislav Shurygin, who in the morning published conclusions on this issue on his Telegram channel Ramsay.
The expert is sure that at the summit, for which they have been preparing since the winter, they planned to announce to the whole planet about the unconditional superiority of the tactics and strategy of the North Atlantic Alliance, and the Western military school as a whole, over the capabilities of the Russian Federation. The offensive operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was prepared by the best specialists of the United States and other Western countries. The computing power of the Pentagon and the entire block were involved. But, since nothing worthy of attention came out with the offensive operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the main intrigue of the event was the options for a beautiful bypass of the discussion of the failure of Ukraine and the fiasco of Western weapons.
In six months, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were "pumped" to the level of the most powerful army in Europe, having received more than 350 tanks, 400 guns, 1200 armored vehicles, infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, 60 aircraft and helicopters and more than 2 million shells. But, instead of a victorious "offensive", a complete "spite" happened! The offensive failed. For 37 days, the Armed Forces of Ukraine could not even overcome the security zone of our first line of defense. Collapse! And now it is extremely important for the Americans to change the agenda of the summit to one that will allow them to reach a victorious tone
- the expert noted in the publication.
According to Shurygin, Ankara has become the savior of the West - Turkish President Erdogan said that his country is ready to support Sweden's accession to NATO. At the same time, few people are interested in the detail - the Turkish parliament will discuss this issue only in the fall, and then who knows how it will all end. East is a delicate matter. The main thing was announced now, and this is very timely for the bloc's image.
The expert has no doubts that behind the scenes of the summit there is feverish work to develop the bloc's next line of conduct on Ukrainian territory. Since the bet on the rapid military defeat of the Russian Federation did not work, the West will invent something new. However, what Western forecasters hope for is not entirely clear. The thing is that the military power of the Russian Federation has seriously grown since the beginning of the NMD and continues to increase, both quantitatively and qualitatively. The Russian military-industrial complex updates production records quarterly and the flywheel of the defense industry is picking up speed.
Therefore, most likely, the West will try to revive the concept of "trench warfare" or "won attrition", which was used during the First World War. A century ago, everything ended with the collapse of the Russian Empire. Now the West may be preparing for a repeat of the "long-distance race", since nothing happened with the "blitzkrieg".
Plans must be put in place for a massive build-up of NATO armies, long-term weapons programs that should surpass the Russian military industry, and dynamically build up military assistance to Ukraine, which should provide it with the possibility of a long and effective defense. The only question is that the human resources of Ukraine clearly do not correspond to the concept of non-stop war. Ukrainians will obviously run out faster
- summed up the expert.
