The Su-24 front-line bomber was shot down by the Turkish Air Force F-16 fighter over Latakia province, near the Syrian-Turkish border on November 24, 2015. Then the crew commander, Colonel Oleg Peshkov, descending in a parachute, died as a result of shelling by "moderate" terrorists from the ground. The navigator of the Su-24, captain Konstantin Murakhtin, was saved. But during the rescue operation, the Russian marine Alexander Pozynich was killed and the Mi-8 helicopter was destroyed.

And now, employees of the IC of Russia, as part of the criminal investigation, examined the crash site of the Su-24 and Mi-8. It should be noted that the encroachment on the lives of Russian military personnel occurred on the territory of a foreign state, part of which is still under the control of militants fighting with government forces. And the frames below show the Mi-8.

As a result of the work of the investigative-operational group, areas with the positions of illegal armed groups from which the fire was fired were established. A room was found in one of the settlements where the body of Oleg Peshkov was delivered by militants. Other important evidence has been obtained.

To date, 9 Syrian citizens have already been put on the international wanted list, and decisions have been issued against them to bring them as defendants. Although the degree of participation of each will need to be clarified (mockery of the body, theft of weapons, ammunition, personal property, etc.). The investigation is ongoing.
