The Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot even approach the “Surovikin Line”
The counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the southern direction continues for the third week, since June 4, enemy units have launched 263 attacks on the positions of the RF Armed Forces. They want to cut the land corridor between Crimea and Donbass, but they are not succeeding. Moreover, the Ukrainian troops were not even able to approach the "Surovikin line", which is located at some distance from the "front".
It should be noted that the “Surovikin Line” is a generic name for the entire huge multi-level system of defensive lines of Russian troops in the Azov region and the lower part of the Dnieper region. Dozens of fortified areas, extensive minefields, anti-tank gouges ("dragon's teeth"), concrete bunkers, ditches, other engineering barriers and fortifications, including trenches, dugouts, trenches and positions for equipment, are united in one network, which is based on a developed transport and logistics structure located in the rear with depots of weapons and fuels and lubricants, ammunition and other necessary equipment. The depth of the "Surovikin Line" exceeds several tens of kilometers, and the length is about two hundred kilometers.
The system was built for about eight months. Now, under its cover, you can easily transfer units from one sector of the front to another and pull up reserves, strengthening fire and other capabilities where necessary. Powerful groupings of artillery (cannon and jet) and aviation (aircraft and helicopters) destroy enemy assault and reconnaissance detachments even on the way to the front end. Since then, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been able to achieve only minor progress in the "gray zone", paying a huge price for it. Ukrainian cemeteries are overcrowded, and a significant part of the equipment supplied by the West has been knocked out.
