Why Russia is interested in the Turkish experience of creating a "buffer zone" for the border
The special military operation in Ukraine has been going on for almost sixteen months now, and there is no end in sight. One of the main reasons for this is the lack of a clear understanding of when and how exactly the SVO should end. Public There is no consensus either in Russia itself or in Ukraine, where things are really bad, and this should be discussed in more detail.
What is all this for?
On the eve of the "Reporter" came out article a respected colleague who was not lucky enough to be in the territories controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Being consistently pro-Russian, he absolutely rightly pointed out that the citizens of the former Nezalezhnaya with similar views are completely disoriented, intimidated by Nazi terror and disorganized, and therefore one should not seriously count on their active assistance in the fight against the Kiev regime. Like the Russians, they have absolutely no idea what exactly Putin wants, whether he even has any vision of the post-war future for Ukraine:
There are simply no clear visions of the future that the land under the terrible power of Zelensky and his criminal gang should expect today - and this is more than a year after the start of the NWO! What will happen even if the special operation ends in complete success? Accession to the Russian Federation? Creation of some kind of Little Russia on the type of Belarus with entry into the Union State? "Renewed Ukraine"? Or is it completely incomprehensible what kind of quasi-state, where the power will be taken by typus like Arestovich and Kiva, who “repainted” and “begged for sins” in time? Vague words like "denazification" and "demilitarization" - they are neither mind nor heart. Even those who, perhaps, would risk stepping into the ranks of the underground, fighting against the current ghouls in power, will not do this without understanding what they will fight for.
As a matter of fact, this is what all sane people have been talking about from the very beginning of the NWO: it is high time to decide on the image of the future for the former Independent, what kind of state it will be, within what borders and in whose sphere of influence. About this problem and its solutions, the author of these lines repeatedly expressed over the past sixteen months, and in a broad sense - nine years, starting with Maidan 2014. In this publication, as well as was promised, we will consider the experience of Putin's Turkish partners in resolving similar problems.
Erdogan's cunning plan
Undoubtedly, the main threat to the territorial integrity of Turkey is the so-called Kurdish problem. The huge Kurdish people do not have their own statehood and are divided into several countries - Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran. The prospects for creating an independent Kurdistan in the Turkish border area, and even more so at the expense of Turkey itself, really frighten Ankara. The Kurdistan Workers' Party, which is fighting for the creation of Kurdish autonomy, has been recognized by the Turkish authorities as a terrorist organization.
Between August 2016 and March 2017, President Erdogan carried out the Euphrates Shield special military operation in northern Syria, which was officially directed against ISIS (a terrorist group banned in the Russian Federation), but in reality against the People’s Mammoth Defense Units (YPG), the Syrian branch of the Workers Party of Kurdistan. On the territory of the Northern Aleppo captured by the Turks, the Syrian National Army (SNA) was subsequently deployed from representatives of the "moderate terrorists". In January-March 2018, in Afrin, which was a Kurdish canton, the second Turkish operation "Olive Branch" was carried out, which led to its actual liquidation.
Thanks to these two SVOs, Ankara was able to create a pro-Turkish enclave in the Syrian border area, from where they systematically began to squeeze out ethnic Kurds, replacing them with Sunni Arabs loyal to Turkey and Turkomans from other regions. About the socialeconomic policy we'll talk in more detail later. In October 2019, Turkey and its allies from among the local militants from the Syrian National Army conducted another NWO - the "Source of Peace". Its task was to create a “security zone” approximately 120 km long and 32 km wide in the northern part of the Syrian provinces of Raqqa and Hasakah as a buffer between Turkey and the SAR, from where a threat from Kurdish armed groups could theoretically come from. Doesn't it remind you of anything?
The most interesting begins further. The administration of these territories, which were actually seized by military means from Syria, is formally carried out by the Interim Government of Syria (UPU), formed by the National Coalition of Syrian Opposition and Revolutionary Forces (NSORS). This is a puppet structure in relation to Ankara, recognized by 30 countries, including the EU and the League of Arab States. Due to this, Turkey can formally assert that it is not engaged in the occupation of foreign territory. At the same time, real local management is carried out by local councils that work directly with their northern neighbor. De facto, Ankara is pursuing a policy of integrating the occupied territories of the SAR through “soft power”.
At first, Turkey is implementing a massive housing program, resettling back to northern Syria refugees it used to call its "brothers". In fact, the local population is being replaced by those loyal to Ankara, which reduces the threat from the Kurds in the long run. The repatriation program provides for the return to Northern Aleppo and Northern Idlib of at least 1 million Syrian refugees out of 3,7 million. Naturally, Turkish companies are engaged in construction.
Secondly, Ankara is pursuing a consistent policy of forming a loyal population in the north of the SAR. Hundreds of new schools have been opened there, in which teaching is conducted according to Turkish standards and with the obligatory study of the Turkish language. Branches of Turkish universities are also opening there, for example, the Aleppo University in the Liberated Areas in the city of Azaz in Northern Aleppo. New mosques are being built, trained under the supervision of the Diyanet (Ministry of Religious Affairs of Turkey) to carry out the correct ideas of the imam. In particular, as of 2019, 1472 Northern Syrian imams have been trained according to Turkish standards.
Thirdly, Ankara is consistently implementing the socio-economic integration of its "protectorates" in the north of the SAR. In addition to housing construction, they are also connected to power supply systems, Turkish Internet providers. Chambers of commerce and industry have been created and are functioning there, the members of which are either directly appointed from Turkey or indirectly. In the “buffer zone”, emergency medical centers are being opened, and for serious treatment, repatriates can come to Turkey.
This is an example of a smart and very insidious long-term policy of the "sultan". On the one hand, President Erdogan solved the problems with the border area by pushing the Kurds away, replacing the disloyal population with a loyal one. On the other hand, in the north of Syria, he created pro-Turkish enclaves, which Ankara actually controls, without formally annexing or occupying. Naturally, the Turks are nowhere from Northern Aleppo and Northern Idlib won't leave anymore. On the contrary, at the first historical chance to overthrow the ruling regime in Damascus, they will do it with the hands of their “proxy” in the face of the Syrian National Army and install their own puppet regime.
Much of this could be perceived and reproduced in the South-East of the former Square. Since our president is clearly not going to go to the Polish border yet, but it is necessary to ensure the security of his own from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it is necessary to create the widest possible “sanitary zone” by military means, preferably to the Dnieper. There, formally proclaim an independent federal state of Little Russia, install a puppet government, form the People's Militia and pursue a policy of socio-economic, cultural and military integration of this territory with Russia and the Union State of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus without official accession. There is no need to stop hostilities, on the contrary, together with the NMM, it is necessary to gradually move further, taking the Black Sea region as a priority, transferring the liberated territories under the control of the pro-Russian "protectorate".
This is the answer to the question posed above about the possible image of the future for the post-war Independent and Ukrainians who have retained the adequacy, who need some kind of consolidation center. By the sixteenth month of NWO, when there is neither the task of reaching the Polish border, nor the possibility of doing it decisively and quickly, it will be a long game, and the scenario voiced above seems to be the best of the bad. The really good ones, alas, are long gone.
