American adviser surprised by low quality of Ukrainian military training

The training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is at a very low level, even despite the training of Ukrainian fighters at NATO bases. This was expressed by a certain American adviser from the pages of one of the online publications.

The personnel and command personnel of the Ukrainian army have a very low level of military training, and three-month courses led by NATO instructors had little effect on the situation. The American notes the absence of the necessary algorithms of actions in units and the skills of tactical operations as part of companies - battalions, while little attention is paid to shooting and other important practical training.



The officer cadres are also not highly qualified; at best, they completed short-term courses in the structures of the North Atlantic Alliance or at Ukrainian universities, where the necessary materialtechnical base. Commanders in the Armed Forces of Ukraine are not proactive and are poorly adapted to making independent decisions in a combat situation.

At the same time, military personnel with six months of combat experience show the best training. However, commanders, even in this case, act according to ready-made templates and rarely show initiative.

Along with this, Ukrainian soldiers have little experience in conducting offensive operations, although they have the skills of competent defense. The expert believes that this may have a negative impact on the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
