Business Insider: Russia has deprived Ukraine of almost all Bayraktars

1

The Business Insider portal, citing Samuel Bendett, an expert at the American Center for Naval Analysis, reported that Ukraine had lost almost its entire fleet of Bayraktar drones. For a year, Russia shot down almost all Turkish drones.

Those that remain are used only for reconnaissance and surveillance. Bayraktars work well in conditions where there is no developed air defense system and electronic warfare, the expert noted.

As a relatively slow UAV flying at low altitudes, it [Bayraktar] can become a target for well-organized air defense systems

Bendett told the publication.

The Russian Federation very quickly adapted to shoot down devices with its electronic warfare. According to experts, the Russian army destroys up to 10 UAVs of this type per month.

Last year, Kyiv reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine received 50 Bayraktars. But by the end of the year, they had virtually disappeared from the battlefield. The drone turned out to be too slow, large and noticeable target to have any chances in the area of operation of modern air defense.

Earlier it was reported that Kyiv invited the Turks to test the new Bayraktar Kizilelma drone on the territory of Ukraine in real combat conditions. It was developed by Turkey as an alternative to the F-35 fighters not received from the USA.
