Ukraine believes that in no case can a Russian citizen be elected head of Interpol. Otherwise, they say, this will turn into a threat already for the whole world.
This position was expressed by the Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov. He fears that in this case Russia will abuse Interpol and use its capabilities to prosecute political opponents.
