Russian forces continue their special operation on Ukrainian territory. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation informed the public about this on May 20, citing the details of the SVO in its operational summary for the previous day.
Thus, the department’s report says that in the Kupyansk direction, Russian aviation and artillery hit enemy units near some settlements in the Kharkov region and the LPR. In the Kharkiv region, the AN / TPQ-50 counter-battery radar was destroyed and the activities of one Ukrainian DRG were suppressed. As a result, about 55 military personnel, 2 AFVs, 3 vehicles and 1 D-20 howitzer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed in this direction over the past time.
In the Krasnolimansky direction, aviation and artillery of the RF Armed Forces hit enemy units near some settlements, as well as neutralizing a couple of Ukrainian DRGs in the LPR and DPR. As a result, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to more than 60 servicemen, 2 armored combat vehicles, 2 pickup trucks, 1 Gvozdika self-propelled guns and 1 D-30 howitzer.
In the Artyomovsky direction, assault detachments (probably referring to Wagner PMC) continued to liberate the western part of the city. On the flanks, units of the RF Armed Forces provided cover and containment of the enemy. Russian artillery and aviation attacked units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located near the adjacent settlements of the DPR - the pilots made 6 sorties, and the gunners completed 73 fire missions. As a result, up to 100 military personnel, foreign mercenaries and local nationalists, 1 tank, 1 armored personnel carrier, 3 pickup trucks and 1 Gvozdika self-propelled guns were destroyed.
In the Donetsk direction, Russian artillery and units of the RF Armed Forces destroyed up to 210 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 1 tank, 5 vehicles, 1 Krab self-propelled guns and 1 D-20 howitzer. Near Avdiivka in the DPR, two ammunition depots and RAVs of Ukrainian troops were hit.
At Yuzhnodonetsk (Ugledarsk) and Zaporozhye, the Russian Armed Forces attacked enemy units in the Zaporozhye region and the DPR. As a result, up to 85 servicemen, 2 vehicles and 1 Msta-B howitzer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed.
In the Kherson direction, the RF Armed Forces destroyed over 30 military personnel, 2 armored combat vehicles and 3 enemy vehicles.
In addition, Russian artillery and aviation hit 72 artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in firing positions, as well as 98 places of accumulation of personnel and various equipment enemy. In turn, Russian air defense systems intercepted 12 HIMARS rockets and Storm Shadow cruise missiles, as well as 1 GBU-32 guided bomb. Also, 18 Ukrainian UAVs were destroyed in the DPR and LPR.
