The conditions for connecting Europe to the Turkish Stream have become known
Apparently, Moscow is already quite tired, from the incessant moaning of some Europeans, about the gas "enslavement" from Russia. Therefore, the information that was announced for the newspaper Serbian Telegraph by the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Lavrov, seems extremely important.
Lavrov said that Moscow would be ready to extend the "Turkish stream" across European territory only if there were firm guarantees from the authorized structures of the European Union. Russia does not want this project to suffer the fate of South Stream, which was destroyed in 2014 due to far-fetched and unreasonable hysteria of Russophobia. That is, there will be guarantees - there will be a "pipe" to Austria, there will be no guarantees - you will buy gas in Turkish territory and "drag" it yourself wherever you want.
The existing pace of construction of two lines of the mentioned gas pipeline is completely satisfactory for Moscow. Each string can pass 15,75 billion cubic meters. m of gas per year. But the first thread is designed exclusively for the needs of the growing economics Turkey. The second string will provide the countries of the Balkan Peninsula. And before the end of 2019, the Turkish Stream should be put into operation.
It should be noted that Gazprom is really considering options for extending this gas pipeline, both through Greece to Italy, and through Bulgaria, Serbia and Hungary, to the Austrian Baumgarten. But, as Lavrov said above, Russia needs “reinforced concrete” guarantees.
