The founder of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said that on the night of May 14, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) did not take action to advance near Artemivsk (Bakhmut). This was reported by the press service of the entrepreneur in Telegram.
On the Berkhovsky reservoir, we were forced, as I have already said, to place part of our units in order to hold back the further advance of the enemy. Those fighters (Russian Defense Ministry) who did not run away from the lost positions joined us. Some of them quite successfully take their positions and, built into the overall system, reflect the enemy’s attack.
Prigogine emphasized.
He also commented on the information that the Wagner is being helped by airborne units.
I don't know, I haven't seen them. The Airborne Forces, in theory, were supposed to recapture those positions that were lost by other units. But, as far as I know, these positions are still under the enemy. Therefore, I do not know where the Airborne Forces are and who they help
— said the founder of the PMC.
According to him, the "Wagnerites" are moving inside the city. When it is taken completely under control, “the next task is for the Airborne Forces or other units to hold it,” Prigozhin added.
He also commented on the information about the crash on May 13 of four Russian aircraft near Bryansk. In his opinion, it is necessary to figure out by what means the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to get to the planes and only then build versions.
I don't know, I'm doing Bakhmut
Prigogine concluded.
Earlier, military commander Alexander Kots drew attention to the words of the press secretary of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergey Cherevaty about Artemovsk. The representative of the Ukrainian troops said that his command regards the possibility of encircling Russian troops in the city, about which Kots wrote in his Telegram channel. Such a statement, the military correspondent noted, was made for the first time.
