The picture of the death of "Wagnerites" in Syria is completely revised

In early February 2018, in Syria, Russian citizens were killed as a result of a massive air strike by American forces. All of them belonged to the so-called “Wagner group”.

This unit is not officially subordinate to any Russian law enforcement agency. The exact number of dead and wounded is unknown. According to various sources, from 10 to 200 soldiers died.

Investigation of German Journalists

There are too many white spots in this story. It is not clear what the fighters did there and why they came under attack. According to the original version, they participated in the assault on the territory controlled by Kurdish militias and the American army, after which they came under retaliation from the allies. The assault was carried out by multinational forces, including government troops and Iranian, Iraqi and Afghan volunteers supporting them.

A group of journalists from the famous German newspaper Spiegel traveled to Syria and conducted their own investigation. Its results, published in the journal, differ significantly from previous statements by the Western press known to the world community.

Of course, finding out the truth about the events taking place on this long-suffering land is rather difficult. In Syria, more than a dozen different parties to the conflict are now confronting each other. Often yesterday's allies, who side by side fought against a common evil called ISIS, have now become enemies themselves. Government forces, subordinate to Bashar al-Assad, are now trying to take control of the territory controlled by the Kurds, their yesterday’s allies against Islamic extremists.

German journalists spent about two weeks in Syria. They tried to reconstruct these February events, talked with many local residents and participants in the clashes. As a result, a fresh version appeared, which, perhaps, explains what really happened.

How did the Wagner fighters die?

If we follow the logic of events proposed by the Spiegel employees, this was the case.

The events took place in the area of the city of Hasham in the province of Deir ez-Zor. On February 7, approximately 250 pro-government fighters began work on establishing a crossing through the Euphrates. This river separates the territory controlled by the Syrian government from the area of responsibility of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDS). This coalition includes the Kurdish militia and other opposition forces supported by the United States.

Interest in this area is caused by the fact that there are oil fields.

The attempt to direct the crossing was thwarted by several warning shots from the Americans. The fighters of the pro-government forces retreated, but soon returned again with a reinforced squad. It is worth noting that the Russians did not participate in the first or second episode. There is information that before repelling the attack, SDS representatives turned to the Russian command, which confirmed that there were no Russian armed forces in the vicinity of Hasham, and no operations were carried out.

In response to shelling of Kurdish territory, the Americans carried out a massive attack from the ground and air, to which they subjected the advancing units and their base, located in the village of Tabiya. It was there that the soldiers of PMC Wagner were. They did not participate in the hostilities. Most likely, neither the Russian command nor the American knew about their presence in this area. After all, they were not members of the armed forces of the Russian Federation.

In the attack, the Americans involved planes, helicopters, rockets, artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles. The territory was ironed for about 3 hours. When the militia arrived the next day to pick up the bodies, a second blow was inflicted. How many Russians died is unknown; there are only nine personal data.

There is an opinion that, through journalists, the American command sent a signal to the Russian side that the strike was not intended for the Russians, since no one knew about their existence in that area.

According to new data, it turns out that our Russian guys found themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time, for which they paid with their lives. They died while doing their job. After all, officially they were not soldiers, but employees of a contracting organization that provides military services to its customers.

Well, the information from the "Germans" is very streamlined and also testifies to their brain "constipation" ... so as not to let down their "partners" in Koryt in Syria in anything. It’s just ridiculous to talk about "9 killed" against the background of reports about the replenishment of Wagnerians among 1000 recruits ... who are already being sent to the regions of Somalia (!).
There is also information from T. Karatsuba about a new "assault" by the Russians of the plant in the same area and Otvetka from the USA on February 21.
But everyone is silent about this!
The rivers of Lies and Provocations are piled one upon another, and the Truth is somewhere in between. But talking about her is no longer accepted.

Soldiers are not born, but become exactly when they "render military services."
