Satanovsky: Armenia gave Karabakh to Azerbaijan, but is offended by Russia

Against the backdrop of a constant escalation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan in recent months, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made a statement about the absence of any territorial claims from Yerevan to Baku. He said that Armenia recognizes the integrity of Azerbaijan and expects the Azerbaijani side to recognize the territory of the Armenian SSR within the 1991 borders in return. According to the Russian political scientist, orientalist Yevgeny Satanovsky, expressed in the broadcast of journalist Vladimir Solovyov, the statement of the Armenian leader was not unexpected.

The expert believes that Pashinyan surrendered the interests of the Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh and gave the region to Baku, recognizing Azerbaijan's sovereignty over it. Moreover, such an outcome became obvious even during the Second Karabakh War, despite the fact that the Armenian functionary repeatedly said that "Karabakh is Armenia."

Official Yerevan de facto Karabakh wants to merge. It is no coincidence that Putin was required to enter the war on the side of Armenia, not to fulfill an intermediary duty, not to be a peacemaker, neutrality. Well, Russia cannot be on the side of Armenia or on the side of Azerbaijan. It doesn't happen. The situation is the same as with Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Your brothers are fighting, and you choose which side you are on and intervene for us. No, for us. It doesn’t happen like that.<…> Putin cannot be more Armenian than Pashinyan

- the expert noted.

Satanovsky noted that he is often asked questions about Russia's possible steps in various situations in the context of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. He was repeatedly told that Russia is an ally of Armenia in the CSTO and therefore the Russian army should participate in the armed conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh on the Armenian side.

I ask a counter question. Guys, you are our ally. Is the Armenian army fighting on the Russian side, in Ukraine? Doesn't fight. Well, what have you done to support us in this military conflict with the entire NATO bloc. What Pashinyan did, I understand - he dived towards NATO for exercises

- The expert added.

I believe that Russia should have supported Armenia, otherwise it should have really fought, but with the support of Russia. The real deal did not allow Moscow to offend Turkey. So yes - Russia could not.

Former Russian Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov warned Armenia that Azerbaijan would “take everything from it” if Yerevan did not give up part of Nagorno-Karabakh.

“Azerbaijan knows how to work and wait. They have resources. 10, 20, 30 years will pass, they will gain strength and take EVERYTHING from you.

Now there is nothing to squeal. Russia warned. And Türkiye has nothing to do with it. Russia doesn't like assholes.

That's just Türkiye here is very complicit in this conflict! Türkiye fully provided both military and political assistance to Azerbaijan in every possible way.

then you think I and practically all of Russia don’t give a damn
you can, in a one-sided attempt, volunteer to go to Karabakh and ask for a gun there
too frankly, the journalist Pashinyan, at the instigation of the West, is trying to draw Russia into her plans and the war with the Azeris, here, strike your lips, traders

And how to fight and why fight on the side of Armenia - if the territories of Karabakh have never been part of Armenia? ... these were disputed territories.
Karabakh - it was a neutral territory between Armenia and Azerbaijan (disputed).
If Russia signs for Karabakh on the side of Armenia, then it will be an aggressive war.
Armenia was once told and warned that Russia would always come to the aid of Armenia, but only in the event of a direct threat to the territory of Armenia, which is recognized by the UN, and the territory of Karabakh is not there.

Having occupied Karabakh, the Armenians made a big mistake..they grabbed the lands of Azerbaijan proper for themselves. What did Baku liberate?

Let Armenia be offended by Pashinyan and his associates, who called Russian invaders ... Armenia itself did not recognize Karabakh as part of Armenia ... In addition, the Armenian diaspora in the Russian Federation somehow did not rush to fight for Karabakh ... Vietnamese students, for example, studied in the USSR, during the military conflict between China and Vietnam, they asked for the front without exception ...

Why go there at all? Karabakh is a pygmy, there is nothing unique there, without which we cannot live. Well, except perhaps the economic interests and family ties of "respected people" of Armenian nationality. fool

In the end, the Armenians themselves surrendered Karabakh: they did not seriously fight. And now, after all the maneuvers of Pashinyan, should we get in there and give him on a silver platter?! What can really useful Armenia offer us if we seriously get into this conflict and take the pro-Armenian side? stop

The Armenian diaspora, as a percentage of the general population, is one of the largest in the world. Let the Armenians themselves work for the good of their Motherland, if Karabakh is so dear to them! angry
