May: Britain is ready for “other” relations with Moscow
Today, the British Prime Minister must declare her readiness to build completely different relations with Russia than they were recently. Her performance will take place in the evening at the banquet of the Lord Mayor of the City of London, but excerpts from the text of the speech were already circulated by The Independent.
Speaking about the possibility of revising relations with Russia, the British prime minister intends to add a “fly in the ointment”: she is sure that Moscow poses a real threat to her country. At the same time, May highly appreciates the fact of the unity of Western countries in the face of, as she claims, "Russia's violation of world rules."
However, she hopes that Russia is ready to abandon the “attacks” that, according to her, undermine world security. In this case, London is ready to "respond in a friendly manner."
It should be noted that relations between Russia and Britain over the past year have deteriorated significantly. The reason for this was the international scandal related to the incident in British Salisbury, where the former GRU colonel, several intelligence agents Sergey Skripal and his daughter Julia were found unconscious. The British leadership unprovenly accused Russia of poisoning these people, after which more than 100 Russian diplomats were expelled from around the world.
Does the British prime minister seriously intend to change anger to mercy? Unfortunately, something else follows from her speech: London is not ready to refuse groundless accusations.
The RT channel voiced the opinion of a member of the Council of the Council on Interethnic Relations under the President of the Russian Federation Bogdan Bezpalko, who believes that the leak of the text of this speech occurred for public relations. Moreover, the emphasis in the speech was made precisely on the accusations, but it is unclear what kind of new relationship Teresa May has in mind.

In fact, this kind of leak can be regarded as blackmail: we will make offers that you refuse, but which will serve to unwind the scandal on a foul basis
