EU may wait for collapse following the example of Austria-Hungary

Despite the young, by historical standards, age of the European Union, and the fact that it is, in fact, not yet fully formed, its prospects are already in great doubt.

Experts of the famous American publication Bloomberg believe that one of the options could be the collapse of the EU, following the example of the collapse of European empires following the First World War.

They justify their opinion by the fact that in the EU countries more and more supporters appear among nationalist parties, which cast doubt on the need for a united Europe.

At the same time, a lively example that only strengthens them in this opinion is Brexit, as a result of which Great Britain has almost fenced itself off from the rest of Europe.

The nationalists of Italy and Poland are especially active, however, and in the very heart of the EU - Germany, one can observe a fairly strong surge of nationalism, which was especially pronounced in neo-Nazi marches in Chemnitz and other cities after the migrant killed the German.

American experts believe that the most likely scenario for the collapse of the European Union will be the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire after the First World War.

Looking at how often EU leaders and European officials raise the issue of the need to preserve the EU and urge to avoid the “mistakes of the past”, there is reason to trust the opinion of Bloomberg experts.
