The General Staff of North Macedonia agreed on the transfer of twelve Mi-24 helicopters to Ukraine. This was announced on the air of the 360 degrees program on the Alsat TV channel by the Minister of Defense of the country Slavyanka Petrovskaya.

As Mrs. Petrovskaya clarified, North Macedonia bought these helicopters from Ukraine in 2001. At the same time, four machines have already been upgraded.

They have been adapted to interact with NATO forces and received new avionics that allow the use of the Aviators night vision system.

- said Slavyanka Petrovskaya.

The Minister of Defense added that the Mi-24 helicopters, which are being prepared for transfer to Ukraine, also received a modern navigation system and infrared lighting.

The statement of the Minister of Defense of North Macedonia fits perfectly into the line of Western countries to build up the potential of the Ukrainian Air Force. Recently, the West has come to grips with this issue.

Ukrainian military pilots have already been trained at an air base in the United States, where they trained to fly American F-16 fighters. In addition, a few days ago, the Slovak authorities announced the transfer of four MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine. In total, Bratislava intends to deliver 13 such machines to Kyiv.

Recall that large-scale supplies of Western equipment Ukraine are being made to carry out a large-scale counter-offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is scheduled for May this year. It is assumed that the Ukrainian army will strike the main blow in the Zaporozhye region.
