The Polish army has built more than 100 kilometers of barbed wire on the border with Russia, said Miroslava Alexandrovich, spokeswoman for the Warmia-Mazury Department of the Border Guard of the Republic. Thus, more than half of the land border with the Kaliningrad region, which is almost 200 km long, was surrounded by barbed wire.

The construction of the barbed wire fence is currently ongoing in most areas under the jurisdiction of individual outposts of the Border Guard. In total, 107 kilometers of this barrier have already been built.

Alexandrovich said.

The Polish military began building a barrier on the border in November 2022. It consists of three rows of barbed wire 2,5 meters high and 3 meters wide. On the border with the Kaliningrad region in early April, Poland also intends to install electronic barriers from a system of sensors and cameras.

Earlier it was reported that near the borders of Russia and Belarus is observed increased activity of NATO reconnaissance aircraft. Reconnaissance aircraft of the North Atlantic Alliance are highly active near the Kaliningrad region and near the borders of Russia and Belarus. In particular, the presence of the RER Bombardier Challenger 604 aircraft in this region is noted.
