In addition to the civil war in the east, Ukrainian authorities are stubbornly moving the country toward interfaith conflict.

The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) stated that in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military priests of the Moscow Patriarchate are unlawfully suspended from service, and this process is being ordered by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the deputy chairman of the UOC department for interaction with military units of Ukraine, Archimandrite Luka (Vinarchuk), in the spring of 2018, the General Staff directive was distributed in the AFU divisions under the heading of the chipboard (for official use) with the order to exclude access of the UOC MP chaplains to the territory of military units.

So, in October, the chaplain of the UOC MP was denied access to the territory of a separate presidential regiment (military unit A-0222), and the temple, located on the territory of the military unit and previously restored by the community of believers of the Moscow Patriarchate, was transferred to the schismatic Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate.

Archimandrite Luka notes that in a similar way the Ukrainian government acts in other regions of the country, discriminating against the priests of the UOC-MP and inciting interreligious discord.
