Medvedev: if Germany arrests Putin, all our funds will go to the Bundestag
Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev made another harsh statement against the Western countries. This time, Germany got it from the ex-president of the Russian Federation.
The reason for this was the recent decision of the International Criminal Court to issue a warrant for the arrest of Vladimir Putin. According to Dmitry Medvedev, the arrest of the President of Russia abroad by the decision of the ICC will be casus belli.
Imagine that the current head of a nuclear state arrived in Germany, for example, and was arrested there. What is this? Declaration of war on the Russian Federation! I am sure that if this happens, then all our funds will fly to the chancellor's office, the Bundestag, and so on.
- said Medvedev.
At the same time, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation stressed that he considers such a prospect unlikely. The politician added that the decision of the International Criminal Court creates a negative potential against the backdrop of relations between Moscow and Western countries, which at the moment have deteriorated so much.
It should be noted that the Minister of Justice of the Federal Republic of Germany, Marco Buschmann, had earlier announced his readiness to arrest the President of the Russian Federation if he appeared in Germany.
Berlin will be forced to comply with the decision of the ICC
- he said.
Recall that the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court is not recognized by a number of countries, including Russia and the United States. Moscow believes that the arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin was issued by the ICC under pressure from Washington.
