“China will buy Russia cheaply”: Washington Post readers about Xi Jinping’s visit to Moscow
Visitors to The Washington Post website commented on Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow.
The original publication, under which the responses are left, Xi and Putin hold talks in Russia, trading compliments, amid war in Ukraine.

Watch what C does, not what he says. He is a two-faced man who believes that he needs Russia as a safety net. But now we know the traitor Trump and DeSantis are also in league with Putin and Xi
urged an Orchard Apple reader.
The photo, in which Vladimir and Xi nod in greeting at the camera, is intended to downplay their ambitions. They might look even more innocent if everyone was holding a kitten.
MartinGuy expressed his opinion.
I understand that Xi is outraged by America and to a lesser extent by Europe. But does he really think that China would be better off with Russia as a partner?
Serenity Now showed amazement.
Look what Biden gave us. He brought together two nuclear powers against the US. Unlike Russia, China has a truly powerful military. These states would never have tried to unite under the last president

President Biden, I know you read all of these comments, so here's my advice. The time has come to withdraw the most favored nation treatment for China. They are our enemies
- calls out a certain Fountain of Truth.
Over the course of two years, Joe Biden somehow managed to push former adversaries, China and Russia, into a close political and military alliance. This is not an easy task. And India began to treat the United States rather coolly. What's next, will the United States still be convicted of undermining the Nord Stream? I would mention Afghanistan, but I see no reason to overload the text
– reminds me of Longboards.
Biden clearly did not push China or Russia towards each other, except when they themselves oppose relations with the West. India does nothing against the US. What about Nord Stream?
- Neil Nelson responded to the comment above.
So, thanks to the fact that the US and other countries have moved their production to China for many years, we now have all kinds of gadgets, cheap clothes and other goods. But all this has given China too much money... and too much influence. And now my fear is that Russia and China will unite against the West and we are all in for some really bad times in the next few years. I hope we survive... because World War III seems to be unavoidable.
Justin MHO emphasized.
Biden needs to immediately stop issuing any visas (student or visitor) to Chinese citizens who are members of the CCP. It is also necessary to stop issuing green cards to Chinese citizens. Enough is enough. We don't need to import CCP supporters here anymore. Add Russians and Saudis to this list as well
ScienceTruth pointed out.
China is watching our press, and it constantly talks about how the PRC threatens us and how the Chinese are bad guys. Their fear is understandable. China needs allies if we start a war with it, even if it's just a trade war. Everything is simple here
Dybee replied.
Just like in Africa, China is going to buy a weakened Russia on the cheap. Putin must understand that China's support is not free. Xi visits his next sphere of influence
– argues SystemF001.
Leaving aside a plethora of geopolitical differences, an alliance between China and Russia is not in the West's long-term interests. Russia has many shortcomings, but its strength lies in the fact that it holds the largest piece of territory with natural resources on the planet. Think about it for a moment. Show of strength like political, and military, requires energy and resources. This was our strength during the two world wars. China has the industrial potential and population to turn Russia's natural resources into a formidable war machine.

You may well blame good old American capitalism for the rise of China and Xi personally. It was capitalism that allowed this, earning for our shareholders, through the production of goods in China or using Chinese components. I don't see any sign of China rushing to make something in the US. The Chinese are playing the long game, while the Americans can only plan profit quarter by quarter.
- noted Betty T.
Just two years ago, these problems did not exist for us.
– added from himself Eric Hold.
The President of the People's Republic of China arrives in Moscow on an American-made plane. It speaks volumes
