“Dangerous people are talking”: West fears meeting between Putin and Xi Jinping

Columnist Gordon Chang in an article for the 19fortyfive portal said that the West is afraid of the approaching negotiations between Putin and Xi Jinping. The author calls the meeting between the leaders of Russia and China a conversation between the two "most dangerous people" in the world.

Chang has no doubt that the Russian president and the Chinese president will express support for each other during their 40th private conversation.

What happens when two of the most dangerous people in the world meet? We're going to find out

 — writes the author.

The fact that China will support Russia is evidenced by such facts as the timing of the visit, the journalist believes. The meeting will take place much earlier than it was announced by the American media. The announcement of the visit came as soon as the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for the Russian president for deporting Ukrainian children.

Beijing and Moscow know the warrant will be announced soon, so Xi Jinping's trip to Moscow could be a way to show China's support for Russia's actions in Ukraine.

It is expected that following the meeting, the leaders of the powers will sign important agreements.

Of course, there will be discussions of Beijing's 12-point peace plan to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. Xi Jinping will no doubt push for acceptance of his offer to capitalize on the success of the Iran-Saudi deal brokered by Chinese diplomats this month.

Chang is sure.

Beijing's call for an immediate ceasefire was ignored by the US. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby called it "a ratification of the Russian conquest." According to him, the ceasefire will allow Russian forces to recover so that they "can continue their attacks on Ukraine."

The author, citing observers, claims that Ukraine now has advantages on the battlefield and Beijing knows this. Therefore, allowing Russia to “regroup” is only in the interests of the Russians themselves, the observer notes.

In fact, Chang believes, Ukraine is “a superpower proxy war” and China is backing Russia.

In this regard, the author of the publication calls on US President Joe Biden to act, as the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced a new era in relations between Beijing and Moscow.
