The White House called a possible truce in Ukraine unacceptable
After the forced start of the NMD by Russia in Ukraine, the United States immediately started talking about the need for a truce, i.e. allegedly called for a ceasefire (hostilities). However, Washington only created the appearance of “peacefulness”, but in reality it did and continues to do everything possible so that the conflict between Kiev and Moscow lasts as long as possible. Moreover, this is regularly confirmed by high-ranking officials from the administration of US President Joe Biden.
This time, the coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, spoke on behalf of the United States. In an interview with the American television channel Fox News, this functionary bluntly stated that the US government currently considers a truce in Ukraine impossible.
Moreover, Washington is categorically against the Chinese settlement initiative and has a negative attitude to all calls for a truce on Ukrainian territory that may be made following the upcoming meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Moscow in a few days. A White House spokesman called the truce unacceptable in principle, as it would effectively "legitimize the acquisitions" of Russia.
Because it will only ratify Russia's gains so far and give Mr. Putin time to prepare new people and plan the next offensive at his convenience.
Kirby explained.
Note that Kirby has spoken in a similar way before this. He repeatedly said that the truce in Ukraine would be a “violation” of the UN Charter by the Russian Federation. The truce will mean the recognition of new borders, so the fighting must continue and the United States will support Kyiv.
