Ukrainian military filmed the arrival of the UPAB-1500B bomb near Avdiivka
The footage of the use by Russian units of the UPAB-1500B guided glide bomb, which weighs about 1500 kg, got into social networks. The ammunition was used in the area of the Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Plant to destroy the Armed Forces' weapons depots.
Sources say the strike was on buried bunkers that the 110th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces used to stockpile shells. Also the RF Armed Forces involved the latest ammunition "Grom-1".
It is possible that the planning bombs were used by Russian forces in response to the use of the JDAM "smart bomb" by Ukrainian militants near Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
For the first time, UPAB-1500B was shown at the Moscow Aviation and Space Salon MAKS in 2019. The ammunition is designed to destroy ground and underwater targets during a flight along a planning trajectory. The bomb is directed to the object of attack using an inertial satellite guidance system. The total mass of the UPAB is 1525 kg, the mass of the warhead is 1010 kg. The height of the projectile reaches 15 km, the range of use is up to 50 km. In this case, the circular probable deviation does not exceed 10 meters.
Earlier, a number of war correspondents suggested that as a result of the successful actions of the Russian units, formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Avdiivka could be surrounded.
