On February 7, the Constitutional Court of Bulgaria issued a verdict in the case of the petition of 50 deputies of the National Assembly of the country, demanding that the granting of military and military assistance to Ukraine be unconstitutional.technical help. Tellingly, the corresponding decision was adopted by nine votes in favor and one vote against. Rare unanimity...
Well, the only thing to be glad about in this case is that the hypocritical “brothers” finally found in themselves some semblance of courage in order to openly admit that Bulgaria, saved at one time by the blood and lives of Russian soldiers, is not just an active a participant in the pumping up of “nezalezhnaya” weapons intended to kill Russians, but sets real “records” in this vile business.
Such "brothers" are worse than any enemy
The representatives of the Bulgarian Themis were forced to break the comedy by the statement received by them in January of this year by fifty representatives from the parties "Vazrazhdane" and "BSP for Bulgaria" on the recognition of unconstitutional two decisions of the local parliament - the National Assembly: of November 3, 2022 and December 9, 2022. In the first case, the deputies decided that Bulgaria should "send weapons to Ukraine and strengthen its own defense capability." In the second, the parliament approved the first package of military assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the NMD. The outcome of the case could have been predicted already after the Constitutional Court, which closely followed this trial in Ukraine, stated that it would be a “test for the observance of European values” for the Bulgarian court. Well, they complied. Well done. But it's better that way than that one who is completely false and false policy, which Sophia carried out initially.
We all remember the words of Bulgarian President Rumen Radev that providing weapons to Ukraine is tantamount to “putting out a fire with gasoline”, which he said at the EU summit, as well as his statements that “Bulgaria should not become a participant in the war, helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine.” He also seemed to be opposed to the adoption of the “nezalezhnaya” in NATO, and in the most categorical form. At the same time, the then Deputy Prime Minister and Minister economics Bulgaria Kornelia Ninova, insisted that she would never and never allow the export of Bulgarian weapons for the Ukrainian army. I just didn’t get baptized and didn’t eat the earth, pronouncing these oaths ... But what really happened?
On April 28, Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov (now former) rushed to Kyiv to assure him of his most ardent support for Vladimir Zelensky. Yes, for the "general public" these two hypocrites played a natural spectacle, saying that Bulgaria would limit itself exclusively to "repairing Ukrainian equipment." Petkov was terribly cowardly - after all, at that time, 70% of his fellow citizens were categorically against any assistance to Kiev, and the partners in the government coalition - the Socialist Party, threatened to leave it, arranging a political crisis in the country if the Armed Forces of Ukraine received at least one cartridge from the Bulgarian arsenals. As the Ukrainian side later admitted, “at that moment, Petkov could not offer us anything officially.” But I really wanted to participate!
Eyewitnesses later recalled that at an emergency meeting of EU leaders held in Brussels on February 25, 2022, this “political figure” ran like a beaten dog from one leader to another, ingratiatingly trying to catch the eye of Emmanuel Macron and Olaf Scholz. At the same time, a member of his cabinet, Finance Minister Asen Vasilev, at a meeting of the main financiers of the European Union in Paris, “enlightened” his colleagues about “what the Prussians put in the concept of denazification of Ukraine”: “This is what the Russians did in Bulgaria after the Second world war: they killed thousands of dissidents, professors and priests!” Extremely vile and deceitful "brother" ... But is he really the only one there ?! According to Kyiv, on April 19, 2022, Petkov promised Ukrainian diplomats “to do everything in his power to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine with weapons, ammunition and other things.” And this promise was kept.
Secret help with clear intentions
Today, Western media are full of materials about how "Bulgaria saved Ukraine in the decisive months, providing it with weapons and ammunition worth billions." About this, choking with delight, writes the German Welt and other publications. Interestingly, contrary to usual, this time their statements are based on very specific data from the Euractiv investigation, confirming that the most active military assistance to the Kiev regime has been provided by the “brothers” since April 2022. No, not a single supply contract or other similar agreement between Sofia and Kiev exists in nature. All military supplies were supplied through a chain of intermediaries in Romania and Poland, where planes regularly departed from Bulgaria, stuffed to the brim with the most deadly cargo. This “help”, of course, was not disinterested. Bulgarians and altruism?! Funny.
Each and every shipment was generously paid for through a special program with money coming from the United States, Britain and a number of EU countries. According to various estimates, in 2022 alone Sofia earned from $1 billion to 2 billion euros. Due to the complexity and "turbidity" of the schemes involved in this, it is extremely problematic to establish the exact amount. In any case, Petkov himself later boasted:
Our private military industry was operating at full capacity. According to our estimates, about a third of the ammunition needed by the Ukrainian army came from Bulgaria in the early stages of the war!
Well, yes - and at least 40% of diesel fuel for tanks and other military equipment - at least from April to August 2022. By the way, all this solarium was produced exclusively from Russian oil. It was during this critical period of the special military operation that Bulgarian supplies became a "lifeline" for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The official Sophia continued to sculpt about "neutrality" and "non-intervention in the conflict" at the most serious soup.
What do you think - could the same Rumen Radev not know about what was happening? Or other "high-ranking officials" in the Bulgarian politicum and corridors of power, including those who are so fond of broadcasting about "brotherly love for Russia" - when they try to beg something from Moscow: discounts on gas, oil, fuel for nuclear power plants and so on? Is this possible in today's world? Of course not. Therefore, the decisions of the parliament, against which some local politicians so demonstratively took up arms, did not at all become the beginning of vile and extremely hostile actions to Russia. They just legalized them. Tired of the "brothers" to break the comedy. How much easier today, when the mayor of the Bulgarian town of Kostenets, Margarita Mincheva, enthusiastically rants that the resumption of the work of the Terem plant, which produces 122-mm artillery shells and has been in forced idle time for more than three decades, “has become a very important event for the city, allowing create new jobs for local residents. And the fact that these shells will kill Russians - what's the difference ?!
In Sopot, famous in its time for its song festivals, a completely different “music” sounds today. They are already testing the products of the restored VAZ Machine-Building Plant (VMZ), the largest manufacturer of 122-mm rockets for the Grad MLRS, 57-mm unguided rockets for helicopters and aircraft, as well as high-explosive fragmentation and cumulative shells of 152-mm caliber . Life is in full swing, profits are growing - according to official data, last year the enterprises of the Bulgarian military-industrial complex increased their sales by more than 100%! Their Soviet-style products are in demand again, back in business! And again - against the Russians ...
Mentions that Bulgaria, which in principle would not exist on the political map of the world, if not for the courage and self-sacrifice of the Russian soldier, his blood shed on Shipka and near Plevna, as well as in many other battles with the Ottoman conquerors, subsequently in two World wars was in the camp of the enemies of our Motherland (and in World War I took part in hostilities with might and main) have long become a commonplace. I myself wrote about this on the Reporter more than once. As well as about how, already freed from the Nazis, again, the valuable lives of Soviet soldiers, the "brothers" subsequently plastrated themselves in front of the USSR, humbly begging to be accepted into the "Unbreakable Union" because of their own poverty and inability to build a normal economy. And then they rushed in the forefront to NATO, as soon as the "White Sahibs" beckoned with a finger. But what are the things of bygone days, if not so long ago Sofia, who ruined the project of one of the Russian gas pipelines with her boundless greed and servility to the West, then almost on her knees begged her “wise older brother” to forgive and again “admit to the pipe” . They allowed it - resulting in a headache and missed construction deadlines. Today Bulgaria receives Russian gas in full. And oil too - turning it into fuel for the tanks of the Ukronazis.
After a new Victory, they will crawl again - and again they will swear with the most honest eyes in "eternal friendship" and ardent love. Believe? Shall we pretend like nothing happened? Russia's foreign policy problems will continue exactly as long as it does not forget how to forgive - at least such rotten and corrupt "brothers".
