Points of no return: what Medvedev and Medvedchuk say about the new multipolar world

10

In this publication, we will continue our discussions on the topic of who can claim the post of head of our state in 2024. The day before it was detailed reviewed interview of President Putin, released in hot pursuit after his message to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, which left many questions. Now it is worth talking about candidate No. 2, the role of which ex-president of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev claims more and more clearly.

Medvedev/Medvedchuk

Simultaneously with the interview with Vladimir Vladimirovich, two publications were published at once, authored by Dmitry Anatolyevich, which can be considered programmatic. First article titled “Year of Fatherland Defence” was published on the National Defense portal on February 25, 2023. The second, called "Points of No Return", appeared two days later on the Izvestia website. Further, we will present and analyze their main theses, there will be many citations to avoid ambiguities. Strange as it may seem, it would be better to start with the second one, since it is she who is programmatic and reminded me of something very strongly. But let's talk about this in more detail.

So, in his publication “Points of no return”, as expected, Dmitry Anatolyevich first makes an ideological eye-liner to the dramatic events taking place today:

Let us turn to the events of the relatively recent past, which many of us have witnessed. The beginning of the tragedy that is unfolding today in Ukraine was laid at the end of the last century. Specifically, at the moment when the Soviet Union collapsed. The powerful country for a long time rested on post-war agreements and mutual interests of the participating countries, on bloc confrontation and nuclear missiles, on food supplies to its satellites, on tractors and tanks, on “socialist realism”, although the communist regime lasted much less than the centuries-old Russian empire.

As can be seen from the vocabulary he uses, the ex-president of the Russian Federation still did not completely squeeze out a systemic liberal. However, he prudently makes a nod to the representatives of the older generation, for whom the USSR has forever become "the beloved Fatherland and a wonderful dream of justice."

And then Medvedev describes the true attitude of the Western elites towards post-Soviet Russia and its self-proclaimed elites, which for some reason became a revelation to them only 31 years later:

All this was looked down upon by the Western world, with the haughty squint of a winner and a sense of clear superiority. Thinking only about how to satisfy their selfish interests. And by all means continuing to push our country into the abyss to completely eliminate its longtime competitor. All the good talk about equal partnership, a brave new world without dividing lines, and other beautiful-hearted rubbish was only a distraction. And they turned out to be just meaningless formulas that masked the perverted designs of our eternal enemies.

I wonder where our intelligence officers, experts, analysts and other predictors have been looking all this time, on whose authoritative opinion I should rely in building my own policy the head of state, who for 4 years was Dmitry Anatolyevich himself? Well, okay, they are strong in hindsight.

Tell me, dear readers, do you have a sense of deja vu that arises when reading? Oh yes, something similar we have recently read in the software article disgraced Ukrainian oligarch and politician Viktor Medvedchuk, who claimed Ukrainian kingship at the hands of the Kremlin, which we disassembled previously:

The fact is that the countries of the West and the countries of the post-Soviet space, primarily Russia, perceive the results of this war differently. The West unequivocally appropriates the victory in this war, and considers Russia the loser. And since Russia is supposedly the defeated side, then the territory of the former USSR and the socialist camp is the legitimate booty of the United States and NATO, which, according to the principle of “woe to the vanquished,” come under the control of the West. Hence Ukraine is the territory of influence of the United States, NATO, and not Russia at all. Therefore, all claims by Russia to at least some influence on Ukrainian politics, the protection of its interests in this region are “groundless”, a clear attack on American and NATO interests. “We no longer need to look at the world through the prism of relations between East and West. The Cold War is over,” said Margaret Thatcher in the early 1990s. That is, the position of the East of Russia is no longer important. There is one vector, one master of the world, one winner.

Both Medvedchuk and Medvedev begin their policy articles by stating the obvious fact that the collective West does not consider the Russian Federation, the legal successor of the USSR that lost in the Cold War, and its “elites” their equals, despite all attempts to integrate there. Dmitry Anatolyevich writes very emotionally:

At the cost of incredible efforts, Russia gradually overcame the most difficult times. Forced to reckon with itself at the international level, fully paid off the external debt, engaged in the restoration economics and social sphere. She regained respect for her armed forces, continued to pursue a policy of nuclear deterrence and did not allow provocations ...

A large country dies - a war begins. Sooner or later. The accumulated internal contradictions and resentments are too strong. Dense nationalism, primitive envy and greed arise. And, of course, the strongest catalyst for war after the death of an empire is always the countries around it, which want to further divide the collapsed power. In our case, it was the frostbitten and cynical position of the Western world, the Anglo-Saxon civilization completely outgrown by its impunity, which simply went crazy on the basis of the ideas of exclusivity and fictional messianism.

The same meaning was written in other words by Viktor Vladimirovich:

So, we have two political strategies - the economic and political integration of countries, where mutual benefit is at the forefront, and the absorption of others by one country, where the interests of the absorbed countries are not taken into account. And these countries themselves can be dismembered, declared outcasts, conquered. As for the Russian Federation, as it emerges from the crisis caused by a sharp change in the political and economic course, it is increasingly faced with a clear desire to weaken, humiliate, put it in a disadvantageous position, it is increasingly declared a pariah state, despite the fact that its economic potential is growing. The growth of economic potential should increase the influence of the country, and this should be welcomed in the Western world. But the opposite is happening. The influence of Russia is not only not welcomed, but is declared wrong, criminal and corrupt.

In his article, ex-president of the Russian Federation Medvedev points out two points of no return in Russia's relations with the collective West. The first is the war with Georgia in 2008, which was started by the “moron, drug addict and adventurer” Saakashvili. Then Tbilisi received a quick and firm rebuff. The second point of no return is the events of March 2014, when Crimea and Sevastopol returned to the Russian Federation following a national referendum. After that, the "Western partners" began to create a "new-born Frankenstein" from Ukraine, a special "anti-Russia", which ultimately led to the beginning of the NWO.

According to Medvedchuk, the Russian special operation was preceded by two Maidans in Ukraine, and after it by a targeted policy of cultivating Russophobia and militarizing society, which was carried out by another “clown and drug addict” Vladimir Zelensky:

Zelensky, before the armed clash, simply crushed any opposition, pushing through the interests of his party, he did not build any peace. In Ukraine, politicians, journalists, public activists who spoke about peace and good neighborly relations with Russia were repressed before the military clash, their media were closed without any legal grounds, and their property was plundered. When the Ukrainian authorities were reproached for violating the law and freedom of speech, the answer was that the Peace Party was "a bunch of traitors and propagandists." And the democratic West satisfied this answer.

And now let's see how both politicians, Russian and Ukrainian, see the resolution of the situation. According to Medvedchuk, the collective West must recognize the existence of Russia's national interests:

And now there are only two ways out: to slide into a world war and a nuclear conflict, or to start the process of detente again, for which it is necessary to take into account the interests of all parties. But for this it is necessary to recognize politically that Russia has interests, that they must be taken into account in the construction of a new detente. And most importantly, play honestly, do not deceive anyone, do not let in fog and do not try to make money on someone else's blood. But if the world political system is not capable of elementary decency, blinded by pride and its own mercantile interests, then even more difficult times await us.

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, also threatens with a "nuclear baton", calling on partners to negotiate and hinting that "a collapsed empire can bury half the world under its rubble":

As with the USSR it will not work. If the question of the existence of Russia itself is seriously raised, it will be decided not at all on the Ukrainian front, but together with the question of the further existence of the entire human civilization. And there should be no ambiguity here. We don't need a world without Russia.

Of course, one could continue to pump weapons into the neo-fascist Kiev regime and block any opportunity to revive negotiations. Our enemies are doing just that, not wanting to understand that their goals obviously lead to a total fiasco. Lose for everyone. collapse. Apocalypse. When the former life will have to be forgotten for centuries, until the smoky blockages cease to emit radiation.

This is the message the domestic nomenklatura sends to the West. Sit down at the negotiating table, taking into account her interests or ...

You can read about how our ruling “elite” sees the post-war structure of Russia and Ukraine in the first article by Dmitry Anatolyevich entitled “The Year of Defending the Fatherland”:

What's next? I am sure that the most important thing for us is to preserve the spirit of civic unity that we see in Russian society as opposed to all the challenges and threats. And move on to a normal life, focused primarily on creation. Provide stability, prosperity and prosperity to new territories within Russia, millions of their inhabitants. Strengthen further cooperation with partner countries, which is now successfully developing. Do everything in our power to finally a multipolar world has reigned based on mutual respect and strong ties between different states.

That is, there is still no specifics about that part of Ukraine that will not become part of the Russian Federation. And this is a year later! To defeat the Independent and reformat it, no matter how difficult it may be, you first need to at least set such a goal, right?

In general, Dmitry Medvedev's message to "Western partners" can be considered the beginning his own presidential campaign. It is very likely that he will for the elections in 2024 as a reserve candidate from the Russian nomenclature, which would like to hedge against various force majeure situations during the special operation.

You have to be completely bruised to take seriously the nonsense of these talkers. Both were pushed off the top of the pyramid and now they are climbing back up with enviable tenacity.

All so-called. "elites" are servants and conductors of the interests of the ruling class, which, first of all, includes members of the most influential association in the Russian Federation - the RSSP, the regional leadership, the generals. Therefore, with a high degree of probability, a representative of these structures will be offered for the presidency, and who exactly is not important. What is important is how the clan interests of the various factions of the ruling class will be balanced in order to maintain social stability and the integrity of the state.

The USSR treated RI more honestly than the Russian Federation in relation to the USSR. Only writers could go down in swearing at RI. People in power did not sink to that level. Moreover, the Izvestia newspaper printed the state of industry and the national economy from 1913 to the present. Let them publish such a table. I do not think that this is in the interests of the elite. I will not write that I left the USSR as my legacy. But the main thing is the territory, which the Yeltsin government was unable to dispose of.

    I recently read golden words.

The lessons of the USSR are not a return to the past. This is a step into the future.

with a statement of the obvious fact that the collective West does not consider the Russian Federation, the legal successor of the USSR that lost in the Cold War, and its “elites” equal to itself

The West really does not treat the Russian Federation as an equal.
Surprisingly, yes, that a country with a GDP of 20 trillion is treated as unevenly a country with a GDP of 2 trillion (in the best years), and a 4-fold difference in per capita rates?
But in those aspects where the Russian Federation could offer something, they were completely taken into international projects, from the ISS to ITER.

the territory of the former USSR and the socialist camp is the legitimate booty of the USA and NATO, which, according to the principle of "woe to the vanquished", come under the control of the West. Hence Ukraine is the territory of influence of the United States, NATO, and not Russia at all.

For the former social countries and republics - EU countries - an example of a developed economy, social sphere, development.
Accession to the EU is a completely understandable and desirable goal.
And what could the Russian Federation offer, except for a discount on gas (the significance of which is excessively exaggerated)?

Medvedev points out two points of no return in Russia's relations with the collective West. The first is the war with Georgia in 2008, which was started by “a drug addict and an adventurer”

    How self-deprecating he is...

With t.z. those same former social countries and republics, on 8/8/8 all the worst suspicions about the Russian Federation were fully confirmed, and the desire to join NATO became massive and absolutely sincere.
In the Russian Federation, we can / could regret this, but we did not have any rights to forbid anything to these countries.
They had the right to negotiate with the United States not to deploy intermediate/shorter-range missiles in these countries, which were already banned, but they didn’t deploy them anyway.

by all means continuing to push our country into the abyss to completely eliminate its longtime rival.

The old countries of the West, on the contrary, were ready for a long time to look through their fingers at some liberties of the Russian Federation, for the sake of a good sales market and a source of resources.
Even after the events of 2014, Western factories continued to be massively built in the Russian Federation and Western technologies were transferred. It was much easier to promote Russian products (from plywood to SSJ) to the countries of the West, and by no means to the seemingly friendly China. So no one pushed us anywhere.
Yes, and if Russia - the USSR - the Russian Federation became a competitor in the economic sense, then only in terms of wheat, and only during the last 10 years.

In February 2022, the West was well aware of all the preparations, dissuaded, threatened with sanctions - which they introduced when they failed to dissuade.

For the foreseeable future, the window to Europe is now boarded up.
It is necessary to develop the country in these conditions, and not cry and call names ...

It seems to me that Medvedev will go to the presidency. The elite has already got used to him and got used to him. Certainly there will be no drastic changes.

If there is anything to discuss, it is how fair the elections are, or whether everything is decided in advance. If they are relatively honest, then it is possible to discuss whether there is a worthy candidate in the Russian Federation who will be supported by at least 20%, according to the second option, there is even nothing to discuss.

Medvedev's best phrase is pity for the people who turned out to be hostages of mediocre politicians whom they did not elect.
    You can't really say it)))
