"Trump" on the way: NATO may not leave Russia a choice

2
Belarus enters into a confrontation with NATO on the side of Russia. The military activity of some members of the North Atlantic Alliance near the border of the Republic forced Minsk to return to considering the deployment of an air base of the Russian Armed Forces in Belarus.

Alexander Lukashenko directly warned the head of Polish diplomacy that his country did not intend to fight with Poland, and the appearance of an “extra base” on Polish soil would entail a forced response from the Union State:

Otherwise, the Russians and I will have to answer. So, we will be forced to post something to counteract you.

This, of course, is about the project of deploying an American military base in Poland, which Andrzej Duda proposed to give the name "Fort
Trump. " Warsaw is ready from its own budget to allocate two billion dollars to accept and comfortably arrange a full-fledged armored division of the US Armed Forces. There is an opinion among Polish elites that the presence of American military infrastructure on their territory will make the country untouchable for the Russian Federation. The historical memory of the Poles, reinforced by the events of the “Crimean Spring” in 2014, forces them to seek defenders in the West from the imaginary “Russian aggression”.

In practice, everything can turn out exactly the opposite. There is a possibility that in the future, after the appearance of Fort Trump, the Pentagon may decide to deploy missiles with nuclear warheads at its base. Washington’s withdrawal from the INF Treaty is a very alarming background for the implementation of the Polish-American military project. However, it should be very clearly understood that this base with all the adjacent infrastructure will automatically become the number one goal for the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Wary and in Minsk. By themselves, the Belarusian armed forces are able to repulse the attack of the armored division of the US Army. But if we are talking about cruise missiles, there is no way to do without the help of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The Russian ambassador was forced to directly warn that any aggression against Belarus would be regarded by Moscow as an attack on Russia itself. To ensure the protection of its ally from the appearance of "Trump", the Russian Defense Ministry is likely to deploy its own military base in Belarus. Military expert Igor Korotchenko explains the possible format of presence:

We are talking about deploying a full-fledged Russian air base at one of the Belarusian airfields, which is, respectively, under Russian jurisdiction, with a group of the latest fighters equipped with high-precision weapons.

Konstantin Sivkov, doctor of military sciences, believes that Iskander mobile complexes will be able to strengthen the defense of Belarus. The changed mood of the Belarusian leader is noteworthy. Three years ago, Alexander Lukashenko spoke sharply negatively about the possibility of permanent deployment of Russian military infrastructure on his land:

We do not need a base today. Especially the air force. We need certain weapons.

Obviously, the Old Man wanted to remain neutral in a potential clash between Russia and NATO. However, the attempt to remain “out of business” failed. The West itself showed Belarus that it sees it with Russia, and Minsk was seriously concerned about its security.

sitting on two chairs has not yet been satisfactory to anyone ... everything is very simple in the west - or caved in under us with all the attendant actions (... you yourself know what ...), or against us ...

NATO exercises can be directed against Belarus, at least such a scenario is not excluded.
