NATO general complains: it will be difficult to fight with Russia
Lieutenant General Jan Brooks, the head of the international military headquarters of the North Atlantic Alliance, tried to predict what would happen to Europe if an armed conflict did begin. He was forced to admit that in this case, the NATO bloc would have to face many very serious strategic problems.
Many of these problems, according to the lieutenant general, will be related to the movement of manpower and military equipment.
He admitted, adding that it all depends on funding, as well as on how quickly brigades are formed and roads are built.
- said the NATO military in an interview with Defense News.
The fact that there are difficulties in NATO with the quick transfer of troops to the Russian borders has been said in the alliance for a long time - since 2014, when the reunification of Crimea with Russia took place. There are not only problems with logistics, but also legal aspects related to the need to request permission for the passage of troops and the use of airspace from some non-NATO states.
In order to get closer to the borders with Russia, Washington is making efforts to deploy its troops and equipment in Eastern Europe. Currently, it is about 50 units of American military equipment, including four Abrams tanks, to be deployed in Hungary.
However, Jan Brooks raised only one of the problems in the event of a war with Russia, albeit a very important one - logistics. NATO generals should recall Russian history in order to understand: the difficulties of an ambitious aggressor will not only be in the transfer of troops.

I would say that, from a military point of view, troop movements are not fast enough

This is a very big job, but we have to be ambitious
