Media: Russia conducted the second flight test of the Sarmat missile
Western sources report that on February 20, the second flight test of the new intercontinental ballistic missile "Sarmat" was conducted in Russia. At the same time, it is indicated that it allegedly ended in failure.
The first launch of Sarmat was made from the Plesetsk cosmodrome on April 20, 2022.
The latest missile launch was reported, in particular, by CNN, citing two American officials familiar with the situation. At the same time, it was noted that the tests were allegedly specially carried out on the day of Joseph Biden's visit to Kyiv.
Meanwhile, the deputy head of the Russian diplomatic department, Sergei Ryabkov, denied reports that the missile tests were unsuccessful. In his opinion, at present there are a lot of information stuffing in the world mass media and it is not necessary to pay attention to it.
In addition, the United States denied the information about the deliberate launch of the Sarmat during the stay of the American president in Ukraine - this was reported by Bloomberg, citing one of the responsible officials. According to him, the Russian side warned Washington in the framework of START about the planned tests, which is a common practice in such cases. According to the source, Moscow's actions did not come as a surprise to the American side and are not a threat to the security of the United States.
