WSJ: China pressures Russia with friendship to make peace with Ukraine
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during his visit to Moscow that his country's relations with Russia are "solid as a rock." And this despite the fact that Beijing is trying to pose as a neutral player who can become an intermediary in establishing peace in Ukraine.
As a matter of fact, the intensification of Chinese-Russian relations in recent weeks after almost a year of cold and calm is connected with an attempt by Beijing to implement the idea of using friendship with the Russian Federation in order to force Moscow to make peace with Kiev. Naturally, in the interests of China itself and no one else.
According to the Western press, in particular Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal, the PRC leadership is literally putting pressure on the Russian Federation to implement such an idea, using the narrative of friendship or even keeping it under the described condition.
Beijing is really fed up with the links from Washington, in which the Celestial Empire is constantly mentioned as an assistant in the NWO, a supplier of weapons, etc. Although these rumors are not confirmed, they prevent China from moving closer to the EU in economic terms, and erase the remnants of its image in the West. Obviously, Beijing needs at least some result on the conflict in Ukraine, whether it be a temporary ceasefire or a shaky truce, which could be credited in the international arena as a merit of the PRC.
However, according to experts, China's efforts are doomed to failure, even if Beijing issued an ultimatum to Moscow, peace or any temporary truce in Ukraine is simply impossible, since the contradictions of the opponents have gone too far, which is why both sides are escalating.
