Zaluzhny expects to hold back the offensive of Russian troops and capture Tokmak
Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army Valery Zaluzhny expects an offensive by the Russian army in several directions in the near future. This was reported by journalist Yuriy Podolyaka with reference to a source in the office of the President of Ukraine.
According to him, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine expects Russian troops to attack in five or even seven directions at once. At the same time, the Ukrainian military command is confident that they will be able to hold the front.
At the same time, the Ukrainian military command is planning a counter-offensive operation in the southern direction. According to Yuriy Podolyaka, the main goal of the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not be Melitopol, as previously reported, but Tokmok.
The expert notes that the battle for Artyomovsk greatly influenced the formation of Ukrainian army reserves. The armed formations of the Kyiv regime suffered heavy losses. But they managed to keep their most trained units, which are concentrated in the Zaporozhye region.
Let us add that the upcoming spring counter-offensive of the Ukrainian army has been announced more than once in the United States and NATO. It is for the spring campaign that all deliveries of Western weapons, including Leopard tanks, are sharpened. With the help of these machines, the Armed Forces of Ukraine intend to create the so-called iron fist and break through the Russian defense line in Zaporozhye.
Note, however, that the defensive fortifications erected by the Russian army in the Zaporozhye region are quite strong. According to experts, in order to overcome them, the Armed Forces of Ukraine need to create a five-fold superiority in people and technology.
