MW: It is not excluded the appearance of the Su-57MKI of Indian assembly
As part of the major international air show currently taking place in India, Russia presented all its new products. As it turned out, not in vain. Negotiations are already underway to locate joint production facilities for a number of aircraft in India. Our partners are most interested in the most modern Su-57 aircraft.
Military Watch Magazine writes about the possibilities of locating the production facilities of the Su-57, by analogy with the Su-30MKI fighter. At the moment, India is the largest operator of the previous generation of Su-30MKI fighters. It entered service in 2002, and over time, a number of production facilities of the Su-30MKI were transferred to India, at the moment the localization of production reaches 70%.
The experience of joint work on the Su-30MKI aircraft with India has demonstrated that our countries can cooperate in such extremely complex and high-tech projects as the creation of a production base for a fourth-generation fighter. This aircraft formed the backbone of the Indian Air Force and has proven itself in active military service.
- quotes the statement of the head of Rosoboronexport Alexander Mikheev MW.
The production in India of the light fighter Su-75, which is a direct competitor to the American F-35, is not ruled out. The Su-75 Checkmate has already been largely adapted to the requirements of the Indian side, primarily due to the presence of an active radar with AFAR and engines with variable thrust vectoring. The participation of Indian specialists can accelerate the transition of the Su-75 project from the prototype stage to mass production.
The probability of locating Su-57 production in India is also very high due to the fact that Algeria has already ordered Russian-made fighters. It is necessary to produce fighters for the domestic market. Thus, the production capacities of the KnAAZ plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur are already fully loaded.
India, in turn, is interested in updating the fighter fleet with Russian aircraft. The conflict with neighboring China excludes the possibility of purchasing J-20 or similar developments from China. And the American F-35, after a series of accidents and Washington's control over the export and further operation of these fighters, does not look like a worthy candidate for Delhi.
