Military correspondents consider the battle for Paraskovievka the key to victory in the battle for Bakhmut
To the north of Bakhmut (Artemovsk), on the western bank of the Bakhmutka River in the not yet liberated part of the DPR, there is the village of Paraskovievka, which covers the approach and supply routes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the mentioned city. Mastering this village will be the key to the victory of Russian forces in this sector of the front.
It should be noted that the Wagner PMC is fighting in the Bakhmut (Artyomovsk) direction, the fighters of which, step by step, “gnaw through” the lines of the Ukrainian defense. On the evening of February 15, the military commander of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company in Ukraine Yevgeny Poddubny described the details of the operational situation in the area on his Telegram channel.
The situation is complicated, I saw it with my own eyes. The initiative is on the side of the “musicians”, but it is premature to say that the enemy accepted the coming defeat. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this direction acts skillfully, the command and control of the units does not "float" even in a difficult situation. Our guys overplay on experience and feet, on speed. But here's a detail: the Slavyansk-Artemovsk highway in the Krasnaya Gora area is under the fire control of the "orchestra". And the enemy is already heaping a new road through the fields in order to provide transportation both to Artemovsk and to the outskirts

Poddubny clarified that the artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is continuously shelling the positions and adjacent rear areas of the Russian forces. At the same time, PMC Wagner does not have as much ammunition as we would like, and this is bad. He stressed that the most tense situation is now on the LBS in the NVO zone near Bakhmut. Therefore, it is necessary, not paying attention to the complexity of interaction and personal ambitions, to discard disagreements in order to achieve a common result.
Grouping of the enemy 40-50 thousand. It's a lot. The units of the regime are fighting for every house, fighting stubbornly and with a twinkle. It's like in the movie The Best in Hell. Paraskoviyivka is not surrounded, our forces have so far only managed to take control of the supply and evacuation routes under fire control. At the same time, military commander Alexander Simonov described what is happening in this direction in his Telegram channel “Callsign Bruce”. According to him, there are fierce battles. APU does not stop resistance.
The enemy cannon and rocket artillery work especially hard on us. Obviously, this is due to the fact that a small settlement is a northern suburb of Bakhmut and is now of strategic importance in the overall defense system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Simonov pointed out that the highway from Bakhmut to Slavyansk passes through Paraskovievka. He also recalled that the Kuzminovsky mine (Volodarsky salt mine) is located there, where until 2015 there were military warehouses (the largest arsenal of rare weapons from the First and Second World Wars from different countries). Currently, the existing underground tunnels and other communications are actively used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to shelter military personnel and weapons systems, as well as to move between firing positions.
