The Germans are not ready to take up arms in case of war with Russia
The population of Germany perceives the scenario of a possible military confrontation with Russia extremely negatively. As follows from the results of a survey by the international analytical company YouGov, only one in ten Germans would be ready to defend the FRG with weapons in their hands in the event of an "invasion" of the Russian Federation.
The results of the survey should give thought to the current leadership of Germany, which is conducting a tough anti-Russian policies. After all, the population of the country, judging by the responses received, does not support their government.
Thus, only 5% of Germans are ready to voluntarily take up arms in order to fight against Russia. Another 6% of the inhabitants of Germany expect that they will be called up in case of war and will be used to defend the country.
The main mass of the country's population does not like the idea of a military conflict with Russia, to put it mildly. The same YouGov survey shows that 33% of Germans would prefer to lead a normal life. And every fourth German would leave the country altogether. And, in a short time.
YouGov emphasizes that the share of young people among those who gave this answer significantly exceeds the share of the adult population.
It should be noted that at present the German authorities are heading for the comprehensive support of Ukraine in the military conflict with Russia. The German government has already announced its intention to supply almost 200 German Leopard tanks to Kyiv.
