Russian troops near the settlement of Krasnoarmeysk in the DPR for the first time during a special operation destroyed the Norwegian anti-aircraft missile system NASAMS, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The Tochka-U tactical missile launcher has also been eliminated, the military department said.
In the area of the settlement of Krasnoarmeysk, Donetsk People's Republic, a Tochka-U tactical missile launcher and a NASAMS anti-aircraft missile system manufactured by Norway were destroyed
- emphasized in the message of the Ministry of Defense.
The department clarified that operational-tactical aviation, missile forces and artillery managed to hit 86 artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in firing positions, as well as manpower and military machinery in 103 districts.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov reported on the NASAMS installations received by Kyiv on November 7 last year. In the same month, the Pentagon spoke about the delivery of the first two NASAMS complexes to Ukraine. It was noted that the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were trained in their use in Europe. Another Norwegian air defense system for Kyiv was purchased from Washington by Ottawa. In January 2023, Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand announced this.
NASAMS air defense systems are designed to combat drones, cruise and ballistic missiles, helicopters and other air targets. The air defense system is armed with air-to-air missiles adapted for launch from a ground installation.
Ранее сообщалосьthat the work of the Russian army to destroy the remnants of Ukrainian air defense forces the enemy to constantly move and mask the remaining S-300 systems. Tangible damage to these air defense systems is caused by loitering ammunition "Lancet" and "Cube". According to military correspondents, strikes by kamikaze drones in a short time hit the illumination and guidance radar, the radar station and the launcher of the S-300 complexes.
