Le Figaro: The newest robot "Marker" alone will not be able to burn all the "Leopards"

14

Dmitry Rogozin recently announced the appearance on the battlefield of unmanned ground robots armed with anti-tank grenade launchers. In his opinion, these novelties of the Russian military-industrial complex will receive a baptism of fire and show high efficiency in real battles against Western tanks, which will soon arrive in Ukraine.

A number of Western media consider Rogozin's statements to be science fiction. 4 of the latest combat robots "Marker" will appear on the front of the NMD rather for the sake of experiment and demonstration of the new capabilities of the Russian army. The French newspaper Le Figaro notes that the Russian Federation is successfully developing unmanned warfare weapons, but it is too early to talk about the effectiveness of Markers against Western tanks.

The latest combat robots are lightly armored vehicles on wheels or tracks. It can be equipped with machine guns to destroy enemy manpower or anti-tank missiles. The designers say that this ground-based drone can be controlled remotely or work offline.

The Marker software will be adjusted in accordance with the Armed Forces entering service technique. In the near future, the robot will be trained to recognize Abrams and Leopard tanks. According to Dmitry Rogozin, the ground anti-tank robot will be able to correctly select a target by priority. Having met the T-64 and Leopard at the same time, the Marker will strike the first blow at the foreign vehicle.

However, in the Western media, Rogozin's statements were considered a propaganda response to the West and recommended that the Russian army better prepare for the arrival of tanks in the NVO zone.

At least one thing is certain: the Russian army cannot rely on the Markers alone in the fight against the Leopard, Challenger and Abrams. The Russians must first of all learn to coordinate the actions of the existing T-72, T-80, T-90 tanks, their mobile and towed artillery, Mi-28 and Ka-52 combat helicopters, Su-25 combat aircraft and their Lancet suicide drones . It is necessary to crush more advanced Western technologies in mass and number. At the same time, Ukrainians will face problems when they find themselves face to face with equipment of very different origins, and even difficult to manage.

– summed up in Le Figaro.

So far, it looks like another "analogue" (although there are a lot of analogues) released in a piece.

By the way, anti-tank weapons were still on "uranium-9". And there were even victorious reports of their successful tests in Syria.
    What's up with them?

    Z. Y. : The real enemy of the tank is artillery + spotter.
And all kinds of anti-tank systems are rather a means of last resort (this also applies to javelins).

While it looks like another "analogue"

The most ideal application of such units is mobile observation and signaling points for border areas, or no man's land, such as the left bank of the Dnieper, near Kherson. It would be better for the operator to sit in a dugout than in a trench, under fire.

A lot, I agree. The fire of Nazism was kindled in Ukraine. Zelensky's followers really want to go to Crimea, etc.
Let me remind you how happy they were back in 2010. laughing

Once Rogozin said, it means that with this "priest"
Promises and PR to the fig, but in real life, like them, the promoted "Uranus" and many others have disappeared somewhere and for some reason they are silent about them ... but there were about 5 different varieties.

To be honest, the bravado of our officials and leaders simply “enrages”. Constant bragging about our weapons just got it. Remember how we boasted of Armata, Coalition, Terminators and other weapons. Where is everyone? Only one by one they get to the front and that's it. Now they decided to boast about the Marker ....

Oh how! But at the parades on May 9! The TV announcer keeps stressing that we have the best weapons! So which one of you is not telling the truth?

I’m sure he won’t destroy a single leopard at all, rather he will perish in the very first battle, but they won’t tell us about this, they will modestly keep silent.

    It is quite logical!
And all such statements only say that the disease of window dressing, lies and eyewash is intractable in our country ...

Of course not can, not one, not several. If there were hundreds of them, then one could boast. When there is an equilibrium in the number of troops on both sides of the war, those with the best weapons win. And this is not the Russian Federation, despite some individual achievements.

During the time of the SVO, they could have already upgraded a hundred or two Shturm-S ATGMs from military equipment storage bases to the level of SM.
A surveillance and sighting system with television and thermal imaging channels has been introduced into the equipment complex of the Shturm-S ATGM. In addition, the missile control equipment in the Shturm-SM anti-tank complex was updated to use the missile system on various platforms. The Ataka guided missiles used in the upgraded ATGM, depending on the situation, use radio command or laser-beam control systems. The missile's controlled flight range has increased from 5 to 6 km, and the maximum missile flight speed was 550 m / s.
Working from ambush, these complexes are supposed to "finish off" the Ukrofascist armored vehicles left after shelling with cluster homing munitions, cannon artillery fire, attacks by unmanned and attack aircraft ....

There was such a post. Empty and based on open Russian sources with malicious remarks by the author. Remote-controlled and robotic technology is not a novelty for a long time and certainly has its strengths. The Marker's aimed fire at targets on the firing range is impressive. If UAVs have seriously increased the effectiveness of artillery and missile forces, similar results, with the proper use of such equipment, can be expected in other branches of the military. No jokes about this. The transition from a shovel to an excavator somehow does not cause a smile.

The marker as an anti-tank (the entire range of armored vehicles) concept is possible and makes sense, but obviously not in the form in which it is presented now. Now it is a purely anti-personnel weapon for urban combat. Machine gun and anti-tank systems for covert purposes.

For anti-tank tasks, the Marker should become anti-tank, have not 2, but 12 missiles, 6 in blocks on the sides. Must be able to highlight multiple targets at once, or have homing missiles. Be able to extremely quickly measure the distance to the target with a laser rangefinder in turn, or determine a group distance

A situation where the Marker rolls out to a position, launches a rocket, waits for it to be worked out, then releases the next one, etc. ... one can imagine, given what we have. But this is clearly not ideal.

Ideally, this "dirty" suddenly rolls out to a position, into the visibility zone of multiple armored targets, loads targets into missiles with lightning speed and releases them almost in one gulp. Perhaps this can be done through the diversity of missiles - one along the beam, a pair along the wire, the rest with the seeker.

One way or another, but 2 missiles, this is clearly not enough.

Another aspect is disguise. Rolling him into position in the form in which he left the workshop is a lack of faith in his professional suitability. The marker must be masked to the maximum, not only with "cloaks", but also visually beyond the usual measures. Perhaps something with foam seals building materials, anything that will help turn it into a snowy hillock in winter. The easiest way is a factory plastic cape, already in the desired color and shape.

The invisibility of the Marker will allow it to be used as a target highlighter. In such cases, ATGMs can be launched from outside the line of sight, and the Marker will already bring the missiles to the targets, calmly, slowly, one after another.
