The Russian X-101 missile that fell near Vinnitsa revealed its features
On January 26, a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile fell in the Vinnitsa region. Apparently due to technical issues. The American edition of The Drive published pictures of the remnants of ammunition, paying special attention to two features of the X-101.
As you know, the X-101 is guided by satellite, but not only. One of the photos shows the “optical eye” of the Otblesk-U flight path correction system. The principle of its operation is that from photographs taken with the help of a reconnaissance satellite in orbit, flight maps are compiled.
Information about the route is stored in the memory of the on-board computer. In correction areas, these data are compared with the terrain - the route is automatically corrected. The system operates in a passive mode, therefore it cannot be suppressed by electronic warfare.
In other pictures you can see, presumably, a "dispenser" of means of counteracting enemy air defense. Probably, this is a block with heat traps (LTTs) of the type that are regularly installed on tactical aircraft and helicopters.
