"Abrams" and "Leopards" will go into service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz decided to send tanks to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We are talking about a Leopard 2A6 company (from 10 to 16 vehicles). This was written by the German magazine Spiegel.

Leopards delivered to Ukraine are distinguished by improved armor and a more powerful gun. The weight of the tank is 62 tons. Leopard 2A6 is also equipped with an electronic combat information and control system.



The publication clarified that Berlin gives permission to other countries to re-export its combat equipment to Ukraine.

Earlier, Scholz noted that Germany would send tanks to Ukrainians only if American Abrams were delivered to this country. Joseph Biden spoke about the determination to take this step. According to the Al Jazeera TV channel, citing one of the White House officials, the US President plans to announce this on January 25. At the same time, the tanks being sent will not be taken from the warehouses of the defense department - they will be contracted.

The Politico resource informed that Washington will supply Kyiv with 30 to 50 Abrams. The exact modification of the tanks is not yet known - it is likely that these will be the 1 M2A1990 SEP. Armored vehicles have uranium armor, thermal imagers and color liquid crystal displays in the cockpit.

The Russian ambassador in Washington, Anatoly Antonov, said that the sending of tanks would not affect the conduct of the special operation. Armored vehicles will burn in the same way as all other weapons supplied by the West to the Kyiv regime.
