A war with NATO is planned: what does the appointment of Gerasimov as commander of the NVO mean?

75

One of the most important News the beginning of 2023, we can consider the appointment of the head of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces, General of the Army Valery Gerasimov, as commander of the NMD. One of his three deputies was the ex-commander of the special operation, General of the Army Sergei Surovikin. What do these personnel changes mean and how will they affect the course of hostilities in Ukraine?

The reshuffle in the high command of the Russian army caused a real stir in the media and society, giving rise to a lot of conjectures and assumptions about their possible background. In the comments, some fantasized to the point that the Kremlin allegedly got scared of the popular “Armageddon General” and decided to push him away just in case, putting loyal Gerasimov in charge of the special operation. Others believe that the head of the General Staff and the commander of the NMD in one person will have to "put in place" also recruiting political the weight of the billionaire and creator of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin. But there are other explanations as well.

"Surovikin's Mandate"

Speaking about the possible background of personnel reshuffles in the Russian Armed Forces, I would like to recall what was said by Vladimir Frolov, an expert on international relations at the Carnegie Endowment (in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation dated April 8, 2022, the Carnegie Moscow Center, which represented the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Russia (USA), stopped its work due to violations of Russian law and was excluded from the register of NGOs by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation), assumption on the reasons for the appointment of General Surovikin as commander of the NWO.

According to a Western analyst with a Russian name and surname, Surovikin's "strategy and mandate" was to stabilize the front and move to strategic defense along its entire line, forgetting about a new large-scale offensive deep into the territory of Ukraine, for which the RF Armed Forces are not yet ready. The time won by Russia was to be used to create a new army. At the same time, the minimum program for the commander of the NWO was to maintain the land transport corridor to the Crimea and provide it with fresh water. The maximum program for General of the Army Surovikin, according to Mr. Frolov, looked like this:

Force Ukraine to stop active hostilities, freeze lines of control and enter into negotiations on modified Russian terms that reflect the new realistic goal of the NWO. To do this, Russia, among other things, disables a significant part of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure with the help of air strikes and drones.

Serious power outages reduce Kyiv's ability to wage war and sooner or later will have a negative impact on the supply of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, slowing down the offensive. Massive attacks with the help of cheap drones, although they do not completely destroy the targets, demoralize the population.

Which of the following did the ex-commander of the NMD, Sergei Surovikin, succeed in?

Russian troops held the Sea of Azov, where there was a huge risk of repeating the "regrouping" in the Kharkov direction. Public responsibility for the surrender of Kherson fell on the general of the army, although this decision, obviously, was not so much military as military-political, and clearly not at his level of competence. The front stabilized due to the arrival of mobilized people there, and it was also possible to create a certain strategic reserve of the Ground Forces. In places in the Donbass, we have even achieved notable successes, as, for example, in Soledar. That is, Sergey Surovikin coped with the minimum program quite well.

With the maximum program, alas, no. The chosen tactics with attacks on Ukrainian critical infrastructure did not lead to the desired result. The Kyiv regime, which simply does not care about the suffering of its citizens, did not sit down at the negotiating table. The effect of “suroviking” turned out to be rather negative, since the local population only became more embittered and was forced to rally around President Zelensky, hated by many Ukrainians.

Thus, it did not work to force the Independent to peace with strikes on the energy sector, and, probably, this was the reason for the next, already the third in a row, personnel reshuffle in the command of the NWO.

Looks like a war is coming

The appointment of the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Gerasimov as commander of the NMD is an extremely alarming marker. On the one hand, as they say, it was Valery Gerasimov who was the only one who, on February 21, 2022, spoke at a meeting of the Security Council of the Russian Federation against the conduct of a special operation in Ukraine in the form in which it began. According to the ex-deputy of the State Duma, and now the director of the EurAsEC-EAEU Institute Vladimir Lepekhin, the head of the General Staff proposed first to deploy significant peacekeeping contingents of the RF Armed Forces in the Donbas, and to switch to a large-scale offensive only in the form of a counterattack after the first attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Not the worst decision, by the way, but, as we know, a different CBO scenario was chosen.

Gerasimov, a well-known military theorist, wrote the following in an article from 2013 entitled “The value of science in foresight”:

In the XNUMXst century, there is a tendency to blur the differences between the state of war and peace. Wars are no longer declared, and once started, they do not go according to the pattern we are used to. The increased role of non-military methods in achieving political and strategic goals, which in a number of cases have significantly surpassed the force of arms in their effectiveness. The emphasis of the methods of confrontation used is shifting towards the widespread use of political, economic, informational, humanitarian and other non-military measures implemented with the use of the protest potential of the population.

Perhaps, after General Surovikin unsuccessfully worked out his “mandate” to force the Kyiv regime to negotiate, the Kremlin decided to transfer the control of the NVO into the hands of Gerasimov personally, they say, since you are so smart, then fight as you should. Flag in hand and drum around the neck.

On the other hand, the matter, apparently, is heading towards a full-fledged war, and not with Ukraine, but with the countries - members of the NATO bloc. The likelihood of a clash between Russia and Poland in the western regions of Nezalezhnaya is constantly growing. Raising the level of control over a special operation to the level of the head of the General Staff may indicate preparation even for such scenarios.

NWO objectively has long ceased to be just a special operation, turning into a large-scale war. The first partial mobilization in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has already passed, the industry is gradually moving to a military footing, Defense Minister Shoigu has appointed a serious military reform. At any moment, neighboring Poland, and then other Eastern European countries - members of the NATO bloc, could be involved in an armed conflict in Ukraine, and the level of General of the Army Surovikin was clearly not enough to adequately respond to such a threat. His powers were simply not enough to directly issue orders to commanders of other districts and fleets, commanders-in-chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Russian Navy, equal in status to him in the military hierarchy.

The appointment of Gerasimov, head of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces, as commander of the special operation, firstly, increases the level of controllability of all types and branches of the Russian troops, and secondly, introduces his personal responsibility for the final result.

What kind of war with NATO? the proxy war with NATO is already underway, and if we are talking about a real confrontation with NATO, then we must give up, because. we have not been able to overcome the outskirts for a year already ... and I.o. we are afraid to apply - people begin to doubt its presence ...
ps even if they really were preparing for a war with NATO, all the more new generals would be appointed, because the existing ones have already shown their unparalleled abilities

      You shouldn't use such words.
Surrender will lead to the genocide of the population of Russia and the hunt for people from it around the world. This genocide will acquire already worked out "commercial" forms (disassembly of people into organs, as is happening now in Ukraine, and it was in Yugoslavia). No mercy will be given to anyone, not even traitors.
It is more correct to speak of "light". This is our Motherland (I don't know if it's yours?).
We do not notice it as long as we are under its protection, including under the protection of stereotypes associated with its historical authority. If ALL of this collapses, there will be no protection for us anywhere. And rightly so.
A sailor who has thrown himself overboard from a sinking ship and is dying in the waves without protection, himself renounces the opportunity to live and chooses his own death.
As for the war with NATO, this is also death, but with weapons in hand, against the peoples of Europe, for the interests of the owners of this entire gang located overseas
The only way to save Russia and shed one's blood without becoming a tool of Evil is to direct weapons against the well-known authors, organizers and beneficiaries of this massacre - the USA and Great Britain.
We need to force them to retreat by threat of mutual annihilation, before the start of the war with NATO. Then it will be too late

and also about the "genocide", the genocide will be primarily spiritual - I don’t believe about dismantling for organs, our not very healthy population is not particularly useful ...

Tactical Nuclear Weapons should definitely be used in Poland. This is if they twitch, of course! Preferably a dozen or two ammunition for 24. Well, so that there was no one to accept surrender ....

Well, all the same, to use nuclear weapons not on NATO member Poland, which threatens a world nuclear war, but on Ukraine, in particular on Bankovaya and on the infrastructure of Western Ukraine in such a way that the clouds after the strike would float on Poland and the Czech Republic.

You did not confuse our country with Mongolia by chance? Or do we not have SNA??? Yes, only by the composition of the DC are we able to erase the United States and all the objects where their nuclear weapons are located from the world map. All priority targets for the nuclear facilities of the strategic nuclear forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Nuclear Powers are on the schedule of "the movement of our nuclear express" ...
Recently, the concept of "DEEP counter-reciprocal" nuclear weapons strategic nuclear forces has appeared in the strategy. Not even a year has passed, and the WHOLE concept of using our strategic nuclear forces is already being reviewed. And I'm not sure that the concept of PREVENTIVE actions of strategic nuclear forces will not appear soon ...
So, with the complete degradation of the Yankee nuclear complex, we do not need to be ashamed of our STRATEGIC advantage in the nuclear weapons complex ... The whales, I believe, are also breathing unevenly towards the United States and are preparing to thank them for Taiwan ...

If the question arises about the use of nuclear weapons, then believe me that it will no longer be Poland, but the Nanglo-Saxons. Poland, Germany and other arrogant Saxon mongrels will also get their own, but the arrogant Saxons will get the main thing.

You speak correctly. I wrote six months ago that in the event of a defeat, all dogs will be hanged on us, exorbitant reparations will be just like gingerbread, the very fact of being called Russian will be something shameful common noun, people will begin to remember that somewhere in the fifth generation they were Ugrian, Finns, etc., just to lag behind , believe me, if something happens, the Anglo-Saxons will achieve this in one fell swoop. The Russian Orthodox Church will be dismissed as an accomplice of the regime. In general, Orthodoxy will end with this, like Russia. Absolutely agree!
But I don't understand your conclusion.

We need to force them to retreat by the threat of mutual destruction before the war with NATO begins. Then it will be too late

The West respected the USSR and was really afraid of its threats. But there were reasons for that. The Bolsheviks won a bloody civil war with the Whites, defeated the forces of the interventionists. In WWII, the Soviet people made a major contribution to the defeat of European fascism.
However, in the 90s, the West received a free victory over the USSR in the Cold War, and took full advantage of its material and political fruits. As a result, unfortunately, there have not yet been any quick and brilliant victories of the Russian army in the Northern Military District. And how "to force them to retreat by the threat of mutual destruction"? To threaten with words from the TV? So it was already. The West was not afraid of words.
        What is left?
Inflict strategic nuclear strikes on the West? But this is "mutual destruction", that is, defeat, not victory.
What remains is a war with NATO with non-nuclear weapons, to which, with all evidence, the world is inexorably heading. And in this war, the Russians need to find the strength to win. Otherwise, the first quote from you will happen.

We need to force them to retreat by the threat of mutual destruction before the war with NATO begins. Then it will be too late

In my humble opinion, we need to separate the "peoples" of Europe and their national bourgeoisie, who sold out entirely to the Anglo-Saxons. And for this, there must be a channel through which we will convey the truth to ordinary people ... OUR TRUTH, and not the slop that CIPSO pours into the ears of "gullible Parisians" (c). This is one.
Secondly, the European bourgeois must know for sure that WE WILL NOT HESITATE TO USE nuclear weapons if it comes to the open phase of a database with NATO forces. And the Yankees must hack on their long, impudent nose that the very first explosion of nuclear weapons (even tactical nuclear weapons!) Is a trigger (trigger) for inflicting MASSIVE nuclear weapons on the territory of the USA and England, and not just on Germans, Dutch and other different Swedes. ..
And this must be said clearly, loudly, with all responsibility, at the highest level... And after that, we will look at the REACTION of the peoples of Europe, and not the proteges of the United States at the head of the governments of these countries. I think that Orbanov and De Golay will immediately appear more than is required ... for mutual understanding of the Russian Federation and the rest of the Oikoumene.
And at the expense of the war with NATO, I will say that apart from the Teutons in Europe, no one knows how to fight. Even tomi. Ukrainians are fighting because they are essentially Slavs, somewhere around 60% Russian. And about us, Otto von Bismarck himself said that it’s not enough to kill a Russian, you still need to DOWN him! And the "iron" chancellor, like no one else, knew what he was talking about ...
        Somehow, however. AHA.

Looks like the stakes have gone up. Surovikin could only command troops subordinate to him, while the chief of the General Staff had an order of magnitude more opportunities. With his power, he can use anything at all, except for the Strategic Missile Forces, of course .. And in general - Gerasimov is the country's main military man. The Ministry of Energy of Russia apparently responded to the decision of Germany, the USA, France to supply tanks to defeat the Russians AND DECIDED TO ALLOW THE SUPPLY OF KAZAKH OIL via the Druzhba pipeline to the port refinery in Schwedt, Germany, which fills NATO tanks with diesel fuel?.....

Oh sorry. This is the Rosneft plant. What kind of war
Two days before the start of the SVO.....
The German Antimonopoly Office announced that it had allowed Rosneft to increase its stake in an oil refinery in the city of Schwedt.
The company exercised its pre-emptive right to purchase a 37,5% stake in the German refinery RSK (Schwedt) from Shell. As a result of the transaction, the share of Rosneft will increase from 54,17% to 91,67%.

one can agree with such a rational explanation for the appointment of Gerasimov, I already wrote about Surovikin that, in my, purely couch, opinion, he was used as a kinder surprise (Kiriyenko), passed Kherson, took on all the negativity, did his job. Well, in the war with NATO, of course, we have nothing to catch by conventional means, we don’t even have intelligence, not to mention high-precision weapons, so only nuclear weapons, and this is the end of history and we are in Paradise, and they are in Hell

Why so pessimistic? A limited strike of nuclear weapons on Western dill, with the destruction of the main supply lines, a high-altitude explosion of nuclear weapons (300-400 km), with a massive destruction of electronics and energy over Central dill by an EMP pulse, with a simultaneous offensive in the East, a completely working option, without a direct war !

You distort Victor to bring what you said to the desired result.
There is no need to "immediately hit the United States."
Nuclear deterrence is a whole technology. For example, the USSR was successful in firing a warning shot with a nuclear weapon (Tulpan exercises), deploying an advanced division in Cuba with the right to independently decide on a strike on the United States (for example, when attacking it) and demonstrating its readiness to immediately start a nuclear war.
An advanced division with such powers was "impossible" for normal US life and became a "commodity" in the bargaining negotiations. As a result, for this "goods" the Americans removed their "decapitation" missiles from Turkey and Italy and were forced to abandon the nuclear attack on the USSR based on their use, for which they were already ready

We have already discussed this issue in one of the topics. I was instructed by the minuses, but in fact they could not object.
The USSR in 1962 could strike the USA from Cuba, and a few extremely vulnerable p7 sites.

The USA could hit the USSR - from Turkey, England, submarines, B-52s from the territory of Europe and finally Atlas and Titanium intercontinental missiles from the territory of the USA.
(And the grounds were already protected)

Ours removed the missiles from Cuba.
US missiles continued to remain in Turkey for several more months.
In the UK - and beyond.
            Intercontinentals - by itself.

Except for the problems of Europe, then for almost a year the United States could take out p7 sites from fifty cities of the USSR with impunity.

But already in 1963, the layouts changed with the advent of the R-16.
Accordingly, the adventure of 1962 was unreasonably risky, it was necessary to wait until 1963.
And you stubbornly put it as an example ...

In the UK - and beyond.

              But.

The work has already been done by us.
An agreement with Kennedy on the withdrawal of missiles from Turkey and Italy was received. Khrushchev knew the man with whom he negotiated. In January 1963, the UN received assurances from the USSR and the USA that the Cuban crisis had been eliminated. The words of the President of the United States, especially those spoken at the UN, then meant somewhat more than they do now. In particular, it forced him to monitor the fulfillment of the obligations undertaken by his country. Maybe for this missed chance by the Americans, they killed their honest president.
              So Oleg, no:

              Nelton (Oleg):
...then for almost a year the United States could take out p7 sites from fifty cities of the USSR with impunity.

was not and could not be.
The missiles were dismantled in April 1963, 5 months after the dismantling of our missiles. Practice has shown that the risk and calculation of the USSR was correct - the Americans did not attack, although theoretically they had a good "window", which soon closed completely

The delay in the dismantling of the missiles by the Americans was caused by the fact that they were installed under the auspices of NATO. One order of the President of the United States was not enough here. It was necessary to formally obtain the consent of the countries, and to carry out everything by the decisions of the NATO Council. These procedures required a certain amount of time. Khrushchev understood the situation, entered into the position of the President of the United States and made the only right decision. If he had rested - perhaps there would have been a world nuclear war

What do you think after a nuclear strike on Ukraine, NATO will bring down a nuclear strike on Russia? I deeply doubt it. The harshest sanctions? Yes, they will add more. They will make the country an outcast, and we are already an outcast. Neither we will go to Heaven nor they will go to Hell.

Are you out of your mind?
You forgot, Alexei, that people live there. Not Nazis, but women, children, old people, generally normal people who speak Russian. This is the second half of our people, divided by the comprador authorities of both countries. Hitting these people is like cutting yourself.
        There is an old truth;

Yielding to Evil, you yourself become its tool.

Cowardly avoiding a clash with the United States - our main enemy, which arranged all this, we become his tool in Ukraine, and now we are ready to be him in Europe.
Do not forget that we are already on foreign territory there. All this blood will be on us, and will already remain on us in history.
There is an enemy who started all this, who is to blame for both peoples - the United States.
He must be forced to retreat, and if he doesn’t want to, he must be cut

The appointment of the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Gerasimov as commander of a special operation, firstly, increases the level of controllability of all types and branches of the Russian troops, secondly, introduces his personal responsibility for the final result, THIRD and most importantly, reduces the number of links in the chain of coordination for the use of special ammunition.

But when commerce intervenes in the fighting, then the rollers for the balls come in. That is, process this section, do not touch this one. Our pipe passes there. I recently heard a good definition of reality - "Such is the commercial logic of war." Seems to be on point.

You are right, that's why the people gave the most accurate definition of this "war" - A strange military operation, and few people understand its goals and objectives, well, maybe only Putin himself, but looking at what a mess he has at all levels of government, then I doubt he knows what he's doing either.

The chosen tactics with attacks on Ukrainian critical infrastructure did not lead to the desired result.

Well, that's right, if you strike once every two weeks and not at full strength! What prevented, for example, this week, when there were frosts in Ukraine, to make a massive missile strike? Apparently castling at the top and was the reason. And during these two weeks in Ukraine and Kyiv, much has already been restored in the energy sector and switched to planned shutdowns ... So talking about the "desired result" is inappropriate when there are no desired actions ...

The guys are pouring anti-tank gouges through the fence. Residents of formerly frontier villages are strongly advised to leave their homes and move to TAPs. The people are leaving. Arrives periodically. People's legs and arms are torn off. This is not in the DNR DNR. It's nearby. But I read that we are already winning. A small village was taken over. Photos are posted by guys in telegrams. Just a little bit left and that's it. PEACE will come everywhere and everywhere.

NATO raised the level of attitude to military operations in Ukraine to pre-nuclear. The answer of the Russian Federation for NATO, the appointment of Gerasimov as commander of the NWO. RF also raised the level. Much has been written about the potential, power of NATO and the Russian Federation.
Now only a military-political move can change the situation with Ukraine. The political move of the Russian Federation is the adoption of the Law of the Russian Federation that the entire territory of Ukraine, captured by the separatists with the help of NATO, is an integral part of Russia. The war has already gone so far that agreements, negotiations, regroupings on either side will lead the side to surrender, there is no turning back. If someone hopes for a freeze, then it will not happen, NATO will inflate a civil war. It will no longer be possible to continue to fight without a goal and a strategy, ten months of coddling has benefited some.

With regard to the recent appointments in the command of our troops, for some reason, the prevailing topics of discussion and all kinds of conjectures both among ordinary visitors to the portals, as well as representatives of the press and all kinds of "experts" have become either the search for some kind of undercover games among the top military leadership, or speculation that Surovikin allegedly failed to cope with the tasks assigned to him. He did it ... He brought order to the troops, stabilized the front with a length of more than 800 km, organized proper interaction both between units and between different branches of the military, concentrated control of a huge front in one hand. As the saying goes, "what more?" In fact, everything is much simpler and, most importantly, without many intrigues that are pleasant to the ear. A general offensive of the RF Armed Forces is being prepared. The planning and preparation of such serious operations is a difficult task, which only the General Staff apparatus can do. Such a task could not be entrusted to the commander, who was engaged in solving operational tasks along the entire vast stretch of the front. It is quite logical that the leadership of this operation was in fact transferred to the Chief of the General Staff. But it is logical only because the RF Armed Forces, for obvious reasons, at the time the NMD began, were organizationally and structurally unprepared to wage a full-scale modern war. And the stubborn (until now!) naming of military operations as a special military operation (SVO) did a very poor service to that. This is a full blown WAR! And while, for the sake of political considerations, we will continue to call it a special OPERATION, we will always be in search of what everyone has known for a long time, shuffle commanders, introduce new positions, put in place the commanders of individual ARMIES of the chiefs of staff (even if they are General) .

Defense Minister Shoigu appointed a serious military reform

Appointed a reform - it sounds somehow strange. And what is its severity? Announced the creation of a bunch of new divisions? And where for them to take personnel? Even if they are caught on the streets, then who will teach them what? The current personnel themselves have been more on the front line all these years, in preparation for the next parade. The newly mobilized, respectively, are taught and will continue to be taught the same, drill and charters, with long breaks for household work and outfits. And where to get weapons? Even the junk that our military-industrial complex can give out, when they still manage to accumulate to replace the destroyed one, not to mention the deployment of new connections. So the divisional commanders will be appointed, thereby significantly increasing the number of general positions in the RF Armed Forces, including further inflating the staff of higher Moscow headquarters, and the divisions will be numbered in staff for many years to come.
Replacing the brigade system of organization with a divisional one? So we now have problems with communication, control, interaction even within the battalions. And neighboring BTGs can generally know a little more than nothing about each other. If we cannot establish interaction between battalions in brigades, then how will they ensure the functioning of the division as a single organism? This is much more difficult than at the brigade level. It's a paradox, it turns out - it didn't work out with the brigades, so let's try to solve a more difficult task - maybe it will turn out better? Yes, why would?!

Loaf! Yes, you are an opportunist!!! A foreigner by conviction and apparently did not serve anywhere ... Anger is already whipping over the edge: there are no people, and the equipment is all old, and only the headquarters will grow, but there will be no sense ...
But for me, it was necessary to start moving the rolls earlier ... it would be more sense. The fact that the SVO at the first stage opened the bedlam in the land, etc., is akin to the winter war with Finland ... Now at least the blinders have fallen, and it became clear in what ass it was all ... And how much foam faded from the country under music about partial mobilization. Both the society and the Army are getting healthier - that's for sure. And the new military organization will meet the spirit of the times. And technology, and electronics, and management - everything will be shaken up and done as it should.
Therefore, as one brilliant German said: - What does not kill us makes us stronger! Now we are getting stronger. Victory will be ours!
And Gerasim and his Mumu were put at the head of the NMD on the eve of the big fight with the NATO Allied Armed Forces, so that all the links of the military command could be worked out to the big BADA BOOM. If you still don’t understand this, then it’s time to finish with the sandbox and toys. It's time to grow up...

The stakes just keep going up and up. The oddities of this NWO do not end there. And the smell doesn't fade. The commercial component remained, having added Ukrainian assets. The author, any form of open confrontation with NATO will quickly turn into a nuclear war. The very first missile fired towards Russia or Europe will be the signal for nuclear strikes. No one will figure out what a rocket with a nuclear charge is flying with or not. Putin clearly said the retaliatory strike will be delivered when enemy missiles start to launch from positions. What do you think the West does not understand? They understand everything perfectly and are afraid of nuclear war no less than ours.
