NATO's "Single Trident" is directed against Russia

Large-scale NATO Trident Juncture exercises began in Norway. This event was condemned by the Russian Foreign Ministry. So, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said that they, without a doubt, are anti-Russian. Moscow, according to the diplomat, should take this into account in its military planning.

Grushko praised the fact that recently the Russian authorities paid special attention to strengthening the country's defense capabilities.

Today, Russia has various options for choosing the most optimal military-technical response to threats that may be of a completely different nature.

- stressed the deputy minister.

Earlier, the head of the Russian defense department, Sergei Shoigu, drew attention to the fact that the military activity of the North Atlantic Alliance at the borders with Russia has seriously increased. It has reached an “unprecedented level” since the end of the Cold War.

The NATO members justify their actions by lying about the allegedly existing “Russian threat”. As the top officials of the state have repeatedly stated, Russia does not intend to threaten anyone, but at the same time, it cannot ignore the actions of NATO, which endanger Moscow’s interests.

The Trident Juncture exercises ("Single Trident") will last until November 7th. At a press conference, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that they were attended by approximately 50 thousand soldiers from 31 states (more than 13 thousand from northern Europe). Involved 250 aircraft and 65 ships.

Representatives of non-NATO countries — Finland, Sweden and Ukraine — participate in the maneuvers. Perhaps, when the NATO Secretary General claimed that the alliance demonstrates with these exercises that “it is not looking for confrontation, but is ready to defend the allies”, it was Ukraine that was meant by the allies (the word “trident” in the title is also characteristic). Representatives of Russia and Belarus are invited as observers.

These are the largest exercises of the North Atlantic bloc over the past 16 years. They will be tested not only defensive, but also offensive.
