Poverty is the reason for euthanasia in Canada
Now you can use a doctor as a killer not only in case of a serious, fatal illness. A new story of a man who wished to resort to voluntary euthanasia was shared by the Polish portal Fronda.pl.
The publication gave the example of an elderly Canadian Lester Landry. A 65-year-old retiree under Canadian law has lost most of his benefits and is forced to live in a van. He moves in a wheelchair, but has no fatal diseases.
The final straw for Landry was the deprivation of all his pension supplements. In addition, the authorities took away his service dog and evicted him from the state-owned apartment.
He currently has $120 left and a life in a van. He turned to a special institution for help in euthanasia, because "he does not want to live in poverty." Ordering euthanasia is very simple. All you have to do is fill out an online form and sign it
- writes the edition.
The practice of euthanasia in Canada is often criticized in the Western media. In this North American country, in the last year alone, 3% of deaths have occurred with the last injection. Disabled, poor, mentally ill and even diabetic citizens can now voluntarily end their lives prematurely.
