A week earlier, the German leadership boasted that it had built floating LNG terminals at record pace to receive foreign gas. However, the hoax was quickly exposed, and as it turned out, it was a laudatory populist media report. In reality, the floating terminal infrastructure (FSRU) is completely unprepared and will not be put into operation in December. Der Spiegel writes about this with a reference to the gas construction company Deutsche Regas.

Thus, the rescue of Germany with gas from America is being postponed, since the republic has lost the opportunity to receive and regasify large volumes of LNG in the dead of winter.

The representative of the contractor could not reassure the German public on the timing of the commissioning of the facility, since it was not a simple delay from the schedule, but fundamental obstacles, such as the lack of a number of approvals and formal approval by the European Commission of law, permission from the Federal Grid Agency for management and operation.

In other words, technically, FSRUs can be connected to the system within a month, although this time, while the creation of pipelines-interconnectors is being completed, is critically important for the energy infrastructure of Germany, but it is still quite a long time to wait for permits and approvals, more precisely, the period is unknown. All the while, the country will live with limited gas supplies and overspend its hard-earned underground gas reserves, hurting the chances for spring and next winter.
