Ukraine with pomp returns into operation "the most powerful ship"

1
“One of the most powerful units of the Ukrainian forces” returns to the Sea of Azov after repair, as the Tisk portal pompously reports on its Facebook page. We are talking about the border guard ship Donbass.

As stated in this publication, steering gears, shafts and propellers were repaired, cooling systems were restored, fuel, oil and ballast tanks were serviced, protectors were installed on the underwater hull of the ship. And also - the hull of the “most powerful” Ukrainian ship was cleaned and painted.

It should be noted that the Donbass is a ship of the project 205P BG-32. It was made even in Soviet Leningrad in 1982. After 10 years, he was transferred to Ukraine, where he was used in the maritime security of the state border service. On board were mounted machine guns of 12,7-millimeter caliber, two Ak-230 artillery mounts, and it was also equipped with depth charges.

Social network users reacted very peculiarly to news about the return of the ship into operation. One of the commentators wrote that such vessels are most often called “old troughs”, and another drew attention to its color:

Especially the coloring is impressive, it's good to hide in the reeds somewhere in the swamp. In the sea - no, no!

Earlier, in August of this year, the command of the Ukrainian Navy was forced to admit that Nezalezhnaya was not able to ensure military parity at sea with Russia. Not surprisingly, especially when the old Soviet ship is called "one of the most powerful combat units."

For a border ship, the coloring is really very strange. On the contrary, it should be visible from afar and it should differ, well, like a police car ... And this is so somewhere under the coast in an ambush, maybe at the mouth of a river, etc. This is purely coastal camouflage. On large warships, in general, such a coloring is applied so as not to hide, but rather for an observer from afar to "break the silhouette" of the sea, that is, to make it difficult to determine the type of the observed ship. Although with modern tracking technologies this is hardly relevant ... and it is hardly suitable for this watchdog either ... Maybe there just wasn't enough paint right?
But in the Sea of Azov, the main weapon will probably be deep bombs. Now the enemy submarines on Azov will have a hard time ...
