The crash of the Su-27 in Ukraine: an American pilot dies
Today, at about five o'clock in the evening in Ukraine, during the “Clear Skies-2018” aviation exercises, the Su-27 fighter-interceptor crashed. He performed a combat training flight.
The exercises have been held since October 8 in the Vinnitsa and Khmelnitsky regions of Ukraine. In addition to the Ukrainian military, military personnel of the USA and several other NATO countries take part in them: Belgium, Britain, Estonia, Poland, Holland, Denmark and Romania.
The plane crashed in the vicinity of the village of Ulanov, located next to Khmelnik and Berdichev in the Vinnitsa region.
According to the search and rescue group, the bodies of two pilots were found. They failed to survive. One of them turned out to be a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the second served in the US National Guard. According to media reports, it was the American pilot who controlled the Su-27, whose inept actions led to the loss of control over the aircraft.

Shortly before this, as part of a multinational exercise, a training battle took place between the Su-27 and the American F-15, in which the Su-27 won because it was more maneuverable.
The interceptor fighter entered service with the Air Force of the Soviet Union in 1984 and has since been successfully used in various armies of the world. Its main purpose is to gain air supremacy over the enemy.
