Russia earned a trillion rubles at the World Cup

The 2018 FIFA World Cup, which was so criticized by skeptics who accused the country's leadership of spending enormous funds on it, actually led to impressive consequences for economics our country. Thanks to the championship, GDP growth over five years amounted to 952 billion rubles.



A direct consequence of GDP growth was an increase in household income by 469 billion rubles, the emergence and preservation of 315 thousand jobs a year. As for tax revenues, they grew by 164 billion rubles. The championship had a very large stimulating effect on small and medium-sized businesses, especially in the field of tourism, hotel and restaurant services, and transport.

In preparation for the championship, large funds were allocated for the development of old and the creation of new objects of transport and communication infrastructure. The championship has passed, and Russians will use roads, bridges, stadiums many decades later.

Finally, do not forget that the championship contributed to improving the image of Russia abroad. Many foreigners who visited us were imbued with sincere love for our country and its people. As for the Russians, sport and a healthy lifestyle have only become more popular.
