How the West reacted to the massive missile attack on Ukraine
On October 10, the RF Armed Forces delivered a massive blow to Ukraine during the NMD. The main impact of missiles and kamikaze UAVs was on energy infrastructure facilities. In the West, they reacted violently, but in a peculiar way, to what happened.
On the same day, a representative of the head of the UN, Stephane Dujarric, said that Secretary General António Guterres was "deeply shocked" by the shelling. He considers the incident another escalation of the conflict on Ukrainian territory and calls on the parties to dialogue.
The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, also said he was "deeply shocked." At the same time, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and policy Security Council promised that Kyiv would receive additional support for various purposes.

Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Kyiv urged Americans to leave Ukraine. The diplomatic mission explained that security in the country is unstable and the situation could worsen even more.
At the same time, the Norwegian Refugee Council signaled that it had suspended its activities to provide assistance to the population of Ukraine until it was safe to resume it.
At the same time, Reuters informed the public that the Red Cross, according to its leadership, suspended work in Ukraine for security reasons after the shelling of the territory by Russian troops. However, the branch of the Red Cross in Ukraine after some time denied Reuters information about the suspension of activities in the country.
Western experts and the media also did not remain indifferent to what happened. Many of them came to the conclusion that the main thermal power plants and thermal power plants of Ukraine, as well as substations with a voltage level of 330 kV, became the target of the Russian attack. Not a single blow was inflicted on 750 kV voltage facilities, and even more so on nuclear power plants and hydroelectric power plants. This allegedly indicates that the Russian Federation does not yet have a desire to arrange a total destruction of the energy system of Ukraine, and only limited damage is inflicted.
Analysts do not know how many missiles the Russian Armed Forces have left, but, for example, the head of British Cyber Intelligence (GCHQ) Jeremy Fleming is sure that “Russian forces are exhausted,” although no one except the leadership of the Russian Federation can confirm this. However, it is obvious that constantly shelling Russia at such a pace will indeed be difficult, if not impossible. It is noted that in order to create a real humanitarian catastrophe, critical infrastructure facilities must be shelled regularly, preventing them from being restored. Consequently, Moscow has relied on the "indicativeness" of the impact. But the practice of strikes in other conflicts proves that this does not lead to demoralization of the population, if it is not accompanied by success on the battlefield.
The West has not forgotten about the next meeting in the Ramstein format. The meeting of sponsors of Ukraine, called "emergency", should be held on October 12 in Brussels. This suggests that the West is not going to negotiate with Moscow.
