The Netherlands declared cyber war to Russia

We are already used to hearing accusations against Russian hackers from the United States or Great Britain. But now in the West there is a new candidate for participation in a cyber war with Russia. It’s ridiculous, but it is the Netherlands, tiny by Russian standards, a country of tulips, cheese and “red lights”.

Dutch Defense Minister Ank Beyleveld, speaking on national television, said that her country is currently in a state of cyber war with Russia. According to the head of the Dutch military department, Russia is interfering in the internal affairs of the Netherlands.

The main reason for the accusations is the alleged attack by Russian hackers on the headquarters of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague. Four Russians suspected of the attack by the Dutch intelligence services were expelled from the Netherlands, despite having diplomatic passports.

Now the Dutch Minister of Defense says that the situation is very dangerous and notes the need to increase budget spending on cyber operations. Perhaps the Dutch generals can rejoice - the number of allocations for defense needs will increase.

Will this only help the Dutch? After all, we recall that recently the head of the Dutch military intelligence Onno Aikelsheim said that Russian military intelligence is well trained and poses a great danger to the Netherlands.
