The new gas pipeline of Russia will “sink” Ukraine completely

2
Kiev and Washington are very concerned about the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which should connect Russian Vyborg with German Greifswald. For Europe, the possibility of a quick and uninterrupted production of Russian gas is very beneficial, but that Berlin is happy, then Kiev is a problem. In Ukraine, they worry that Russia will curtail gas transit through the country or, at best, minimize it.

US Under Secretary of State John Sullivan, speaking in Kiev, said that the Nord Stream plans are breaking Washington’s hopes for European energy independence. In fact, the American diplomat is a little disingenuous. He is really interested in the energy independence of the European Union, but from Russia, not from the United States. Washington is also worried about the fate of the protected regime in Ukraine. If the Nord Stream-2 project is implemented, Ukraine will lose huge money, billions of dollars annually. This will be a serious blow to economics a country that continues to degrade.

As you know, one of the formal conditions for launching Nord Stream 2 was the preservation of gas transit through Ukraine. This is the solution. politicalrather than economic. Strictly speaking, the European Union does not care what way cheap Russian gas will get into European countries. But Brussels, especially under pressure from Washington, does not want to completely drown Kiev. Therefore, in Berlin they demand to leave transit through Ukraine at least partially. But experts say that we are talking about 15-30 billion cubic meters of gas. Such a volume of gas will go through Ukraine in case of the implementation of Nord Stream-2. Meanwhile, in the past 2017, more than 80 billion cubic meters of gas passed through Ukraine. That is, transit at the launch of Nord Stream-2 will be reduced by 3-5 times. Such small volumes of gas transit will not bring Ukraine substantial money, but the responsibilities for maintaining the gas pipeline will not go anywhere.

Kiev, as always, saw a way out of the situation at the invitation of the "Varangians." Now Ukraine is frantically looking for foreign companies ready to invest in the maintenance and modernization of the country's gas transmission system. Petro Poroshenko says that already ten foreign companies are considering the Ukrainian proposal. In fact, gas transportation through Ukraine will be given into the wrong hands. As usual, ordinary Ukrainians will lose. Already, gas prices in Ukraine are very high. From April 1, 2018, the cost of gas for the population of Ukraine may increase by another 62%. Against the background of low salaries, an increase in gas prices will mean a further increase in utility bills and, accordingly, a decrease in the level and quality of life of the population.

While Poroshenko is discussing in whose hands the Ukrainian gas transmission system will be given, opposition representatives accuse Kiev of more than doubling the gas price for the Ukrainian population. Oppositionists believe that it would be possible to dilute Russian gas supplied to Ukraine with local gas produced at Ukrainian fields. Its quality is much lower, but it is cheaper. However, over the past four years after Maidan, the country's authorities have not been able to establish the normal functioning of the gas industry. Moreover, even coal mining, which traditionally played a large role in the Ukrainian economy, has declined markedly. Modern Ukrainian authorities play in the interests of overseas "partners", completely forgetting about their own population and the need to develop a national economy.

The author's notes of regret slip in the increase in the cost of gas for the population, but the population has chosen terry nationalism and even Nazism (Ukraine - over a mustache). In this case, the worse in Ukraine the faster they fall apart, the better for Russia.

may be so. But far from the whole population chose the path of nationalism.
