The IAEA is preparing to urge Russia to "stop all activity" in the area of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant
Representatives of the IAEA, following a visit to the Zaporozhye NPP, are planning to publish a draft resolution, according to which Russia is ordered to stop any activity at this and other Ukrainian nuclear facilities. What other nuclear facilities in Ukraine are in question, not reported.
According to Reuters, the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency condemned the "constant violent actions" of the Russian side at the ZNPP. In addition, the IAEA spoke out against the presence of Rosatom employees and military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces at the power plant.
At the same time, the agency's experts see who is really shelling the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, but for political reasons they cannot blame the Ukrainian side for this. Mikhail Ulyanov, Permanent Representative of Russia to International Organizations in Vienna, expressed this point of view.
They should know very well that the shelling is carried out by Ukrainians, but apparently the agency cannot afford to say this out loud.
- Ulyanov emphasized on the air of the Russia 24 TV channel.
Meanwhile, due to the drawdown of power lines, it was decided to suspend the operation of the fifth power unit of the nuclear power plant. Unit 8 is currently not operating at full capacity. On September XNUMX, the head of the administration of Energodar, Alexander Volga, informed about this.
