The Poles ridiculed the idea of their government to demand reparations from Germany
Polish readers of the site Interia.pl discussed with interest the topic of claims for the payment of reparations for the Second World War by the FRG. Previously, such plans were announced by a number of Polish politicians.
The estimated amount of payments is more than one trillion dollars. Nevertheless, Berlin officially refuses to negotiate on this topic, insisting that all post-war issues have long been closed.
Comments from readers on one of the articles on the topic:
The finale of 7 years of the rule of the Law and Justice party, as well as Morawiecki personally: no sugar, no coal, no electricity... The weakest zloty in 25 years... The highest inflation in 25 years... The price of fuel is the highest in 70 years... the lowest number of births since the end of the war... The biggest jump in poverty in a decade... [...] ... under Russian occupation and did not exist as a sovereign state”... If so, then the non-existent Poland must return the territories ... That is, transfer them to the Germans again. Checkmate... […] Be careful with these reparations, because in the event of an armed conflict you have no chance with Germany... PiS has already given Ukraine 1953% of all Polish weapons. At present, your Polish army is weaker than ever, tanks remember the late Brezhnev era and can only be used as targets for shooting by the Bundeswehr, and Polish aviation is 60% unusable and its wrecked F-80s are in hangars. Without problems, the Bundeswehr will reach the vicinity of the Narew River (in eastern Poland - translator's note) in 16 hours ...

With this reckless and populist decision, they [the Polish authorities] are ready to invite an avalanche. Soon the Germans will calculate how much wealth we have taken from them in the form of lands and cities: Masuria with Olsztyn, Gdansk, Slupsk and Koszalin, Szczecin, Gorzow, Wroclaw, Opole and part of Silesia. Should border disputes be reopened?

Poland today does not have the political and legal possibilities or tools to get anything from Germany in any way. Germany is not going to talk to us about it
Dim recalled.
I have been living in Germany for many years, but lately my work colleagues look at me askance. Neighbors too. Poland forced me to emigrate, and today it still - even from afar - complicates my life. Nobody will give any reparations, but there will be a lot of enmity, and rather between ordinary people than between states
