IOC decided to finish off Russia at the 2018 Games

Despite the fact that Russia has complied with all the humiliating conditions of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), agreed to pay a multimillion-dollar fine for unproven charges, discrimination continues. The IOC refused to reinstate the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), although there was little hope that this would happen before the end of the Pyeongchang Olympics. This means that Russian athletes, despite all their victories, will be deprived of the opportunity to go to the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games under the flag of Russia.

As the head of the IOC, Thomas Bach, during the 132nd session of this organization, the executive committee of the Committee recommended not restoring the rights of the ROC. And this is despite the fulfillment of the draconian requirements presented to Russia in December last year.

Nicole Hoeverz, who heads the Commission on Work with Russian Athletes at the 2018 Olympics, emphasized that OCD can only be restored in rights after the analysis of all Russian doping samples has been completed.

At a press conference, Thomas Bach noted that Russian Olympians felt pressure on themselves:

Of course, pressure was felt. It was felt by the athletes themselves at this Olympics. For them, all this was not so easy and simple, including on the part of public opinion in Russia, also regarding the situation in the Olympic village, they did not know how other athletes would meet them

He also said that Russian athletes will continue to be tested for doping more often than everyone else. “This trend will continue,” he assured.

Thus, the president of the IOC admitted to a deliberately biased attitude towards the Russians. It should be noted that политическая и economic bullying Russia in the international arena “miraculously” coincides with bullying in other areas, including sports. Although the very essence of the Olympic Games contradicts this approach.

The IOC decision was influenced by two cases of doping detection: curling player Alexander Krushelnitsky and bobsledder Nadezhda Sergeeva during the current Olympics. The question remains: are Russian athletes really stupid enough to take dope in this situation? It is much more logical to assume unscrupulous manipulations with the analyzes or the addition of doping to the food and drinks of athletes without their knowledge.

The Olympics will be closed today, February 25th. Russia took 13th place in the overall medal standings. In the first place is Norway. But one of the medals received by this country was actually won by the Russian curling duo. She had to be returned due to strange manipulations with doping samples.

Against this gloomy background, good news It is that Russian hockey players won the gold medal for the first time in 26 years, beating Germany with a score of 4: 3. As a sign of their victory, they sang the anthem of Russia during the award ceremony. As users of social networks write, just for the sake of it it was worth going.
