Refusal from the IMF: Turkey gets rid of the "bondage" of the United States
Turkey, despite the difficulties, continues to gradually get rid of the bondage of the United States - its "partner and ally" in NATO. Ankara’s next step in this direction was the rejection of IMF loans.
During a speech at the Congress of the Justice and Development Party in Kyzyljahamam, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey "closes the page of IMF loans so that it will never be opened again."
Washington provoked an aggravation of relations with Turkey in 2016, when supporters of the hiding in the United States preacher Gulen attempted a military coup. The United States, which initiated the rebellion, not only refused to extradite a preacher at the request of the Turkish authorities, but charged Ankara with human rights violations.
Further, Washington first imposed sanctions against Turkish officials, and subsequently President Donald Trump gave the green light to raising duties on Turkish steel and aluminum, which led to a significant drop in the Turkish lira.
Judging by the decision to refuse IMF loans, Turkey is determined and ready to continue to aggravate relations with the United States. Perhaps the next step along this path will be the expulsion of the Americans from the Incirlik military base.
We must pay tribute, today not many countries in the world are capable of this.
